I propose a new TER rule. If you're going to quit the hobby, just go. Don't write us long sappy e-mails about how much you love your wife, how you found God, or thanking us for all the fish. We are not your father confessors.

There are alot of people on these boards that know each other or at least are familiar with each other.
Sometimes it's nice to know what is happening with someone or why they have "gone away".
This is a community, and as such some of us do care what is going on with others.
You can be part of it or not, your choice.
We are not all just self centered, arrogant, jerks.

I agree with Pancho, it's better to say good bye privately to other frinds/members than writing a public essay.
Gotta go with Poncho on this one. Short note saying "so long" is sufficient. Don't need or want mia culpas.
IMO all they need to add is a post that lets people know they are just taking a break or retiring (not dead or injured). If they have anyone that they have formed a friendship with, send them a PM.
I believe many of these posts are fake! Only being used to try and teach people some moral lessons that they want others to follow their lead. IMO some use it like going to their own funeral. They want to see who would be there and what the people would say about them. The women here are in a different category. They have had the opportunity to meet many others through their profession. A lot more people have come in direct contact with them, rather than just chatting online anonymously. It would be way too hard for them to send a PM to everyone they have ever meet from the beginning.

There are many of us who look at this as a community and as such care as to others members and their respective participation in the community. If some of us are long winded, opinionated, melodramatic sentimentalists or anything else it is because we are human and thus inherently flawed. As adults we(the old guard) recognize this and therefore exercise both tolerance and understanding in hopes that maybe a precious few of you maladjusted misanthropes may learn from our example.

These people were not complaining when they were getting laid by some of these nice ladies so if they cannot do it anymore for whatever reason they should just say thank you and leave the loving of wives and Jesus out of it.

it has been overrun by a bunch of cowards who continue to post under an alias so they can't be held accountable for their drivel.
I'm sure they are just to scared that if they were upfront and honest, that many of the ladies would not give them the time of day, due to the views and comment they are so proud of.
They must think that being anonymous makes them "big men", when in reality it makes them whining wimps.

P.S. Use of an alias is not always indicative of cowardice. Literary license containing sarcasm, metaphor, alliteration, oxymoron etc can be humorously and poignantly achieved through an alias.
