I have been a Provider since I was eighteen & a half. And now weed has been legalized in my area (New Jersey) and Atlantic City has 5 to 10 spots (Small & Medium size stores) spread throughout Atlantic City. My question is why isn't Escorting legalized?! They are taxing and monitoring weed (What it contains & What not), But they won't allow the women be independent workers and pay taxes if they have to (Legalize Escorting). Even if we got to get test for sexually transmitted diseases and pay taxes. I'm wondering what the hobbyists &

Talk to your elected representatives.

After women were allowed the vote. The same women who pushed for voting rights pushed laws to make prostitution illegal in all the states of the US.  They would never allow it because it is competition.

I think the reason is that widespread, easy accessible prostitution disrupts traditional sexual economy.  By that I mean that women have a certain power based on their being sexually desirable and holding the key to it.  When an attractive female makes herself easily available to multiple unmarried and married men, for pay or not for pay, that power, for women who don't, is threatened.  That is to say that maintaining that arrangenent requires most women to not give away or trade sex so easily.  I think the harsh feelings and words women who oppose prostitution express and act on are a reaction to that threat.  I think that legal, widespread prostitution would be the biggest such threat we might allow.

I am not judging; I think it should be legal, whether it is a good thing or a not.  But I think this is a real phenomenon that does have a big impact on people's lives and legalization would definitely magnify and expand that impact.  So, I think if society were to get to the bottom of why it just does not want to legalize prostitution, this issue would have to be faced.  I find the common arguments we often hear to be either red herrings or not really serious, even if they appear to arise from good intentions.

I sincerely hope that I have not offended anyone.  My apologies if I have.

Because pot is now NOT a gateway drug, does NOT cause lung cancer and in some places they're banning menthol cigarettes.  You gotta LOVE the logic.

I definitely agree Escort business should be legalized, but how would they tax people, and regulate? The majority of people who engage in this hobby have no paper trail. I assume, but maybe I am wrong. Cash is hard to tax when people lie about how much cash/monies they actually receive for a job.

I’ve been in this adult industry for over 2 decades & started at age 21 for an Escort agency. Working for a real legit escort agency you have to file, and pay taxes on all your tips that are credit cards. You’re considered an  independent contractor with an outcall/incall nude entertainment license. I believe escorting should be legalized, but how with all the Karen’s of the World could this ever happen?

Legalized prostitution will go over real well in the bible belt.  Additionally, when you're hit with taxes, fees and licenses by the Feds, State and Local governments.  I wonder if you'll still agree.

Escorting is not illegal in New Jersey and you can pay taxes on those earnings. Do your research.
