So clearly, all you who are actively responding on TER either because you have paid for a membership, or have written many reviews. I'm talking about the client who inquires to book a session, but then tells me, "gee I cannot message you on TER, because I only have a basic membership."

Tell me the logic behind this if any? Is it the thrill of not paying the monthly, and still being able to see some providers?

If they are requesting to be considered for a 600 an hour provider, wouldn't it be a great first start to pay 30 dollars for a  monthly membership?

My reason for now joining TER and getting VIP was that the only email I had was a work email, and I did not want to risk giving it out to TER lest some kind of shit happened.

Then a person very near and dear to me now pointed out that I could get a free email very easily by signing up on either Google or Yahoo, or any of the other free email sites.  I always figured there was a fee for that.

So, if anyone out there is reading this and thought like I did, don't any longer.

Some guys are just plain cheap, as well.

Plenty just use this site to play on.  Many others use verification sites when seeing a gal.  Yet others who are paying for HDH's have other methods and tools for screening.

Newbies are encouraged to pay for VIP here.  Once someone has been around a while, there may be little reason to continue to pay for VIP.  Some might want it strictly for the alias feature.  Or even the PM system.

FWIW...many many guys don't ever tell a gal that they are TER members, let alone the handle they have.  Tends to be a problem when/if they want to write an honest review.

... a prospective client doesn't really need a VIP membership to contact you as they can contact you via email listed on your profile here or through your website.

However, if they want to get an idea of your services or see your reviews then a VIP membership here (or any other review site) is definitely the way to go.

And can't justify the reason for paying for vip.

Other are too cheap to buy vip. Others are trying to hide who they really are and trying get around screening.

Some guys make over 6 figures and ask someone they know for reviews.  Lots of cheapos out there.

Some guys will say I can by a weeks worth of meat for $30 why spend it on vip membership.  Men are different from women.  Men will only have a few pairs of shoes where women are buying a new pair every month.  Men in general want to stretch their dollars.

I hear from many of my clients that they are afraid to pay for a membership out of fear that if this site were targeted/shutdown by the FBI that the feds would all but drive a bulldozer through their place of employment to wrestle them to the ground. Well, perhaps not as dramatic as *that*, but they have some serious concerns about being "outed" and/or arrested should the feds step in on this site. When I mention that TER accepts money orders and other discreet forms of payment, they still fear that somehow they will be traced. Many are just cheap, however some bring up the Seattle TRB "League" story and fear that it is only a matter of time before this review board is targeted/shutdown.

I trust those same paranoid dudes who are giving you that song and dance found you via the internet.  You can really create some more paranoia amongst those dudes if you tell them that in their site searches, their IP addresses are all logged.

They'll need to ask for Hillary's assistance to delete that trail.  More likely the SO will inadvertently type something into the web bar...and poof...there's a link to your site.  LOL

...and can take awhile before renewing it. AAMOF one of the few reasons that I will renew it is if a provider that I want to see asks me to PM her here. Otherwise I really have little use for a VIP membership here.

unless you only want clients who use ter.

if a client is only using ter to find providers, i suppose; but then again, why does it matter?  i'm not sure if a guy can be white listed without being a vip; if that's possible and the guy insists on your using his white lists as his only  references, and you want to verify he is who he says he is in re ter, i guess that's one scenario.

but if i were a provider i would avoid seeing anyone who wouldn't volunteer to give you names, web sites and emails of other provides for references

Julia , obviously he didn't read the fine print that comes with a basic membership.  If he did, your next question is does he understand what he reads. It is not about the logic, it is knowing what you are entitled to at certain levels. However this is not like public television were they specifically say what you will get when you pay a certain amount of dollars.  Those are the questions that you will typically get with your fee structure but you put the disclaimer in there for legal reasons.

it's too easy to slam such a stupid question, so I'll give you a real answer. Any member (free or VIP) can write a review. A review (after your 2nd) will then get you 15 days free VIP.

VIP also gives you access to review details and PM.

I've dumped mine.
Expires next week
Why? Because all the details in reviews, in my opinion, is the only real benefit to VIP.
And reviews have gotten to all sound the same or the veracity is suspect.
It's not the money.

Unless her screening requires me to PM her on TER, I don't need it. I use the VIP feature when I write a review and I don't feel the need to pay the extra 30 bucks a month for it.

PM:
Hi, I'm John. Would love to meet you next Tuesday at 7pm. I'm a 6' tall, in-shape, 47-yr old, college educated, white guy. I also grow orchids. Check out my Whitelists and reviews and if you have any questions let me know. PM me back...

I rarely meet a new gal who isn't on TER. Obviously if she doesn't have VIP it doesn't work so well, but that's the same as if she's not on P411.

I can see why some feel it is not worth the cost and it was difficult to pay without leaving a paper trail.

But right now I have been seeing the same few providers for the last year or so.  I let it expire last month for the first time in a long time.  Don't really need it, besides most of my communiques are via email.
I will get VIP again, just to have it.  The site is more fun with it
But its not completely necessary for me right now

Because of my crappy financial circumstances, I am relegated to setting aside $20 per week to do my hobbying.  VIP could turn a 2-month wait for a date into a 5-month wait.  If the lady I'm interested in seeing has a website, then I can give her my email, and there's no need to PM on TER.  Also, my lack of VIP does not prevent her from reading my posts or reviews to get an idea of what I'm like, so I'm a little puzzled why this is such a big issue for you.

Back in the day, on that other place, I was deeply embedded in the hobby culture. I saw hundreds of ladies, wrote hundreds of reviews, and wrote thousands of posts, including site messages. Being a member of that sight also gave me access to several underground, top secret forums. Not to mention gaining access to many of the secret secret secret forums beyond the regular underground forums. It was a lot of fun, and helped me pass the time thinking about what to write next during my tedious, mundane job. Then one day that other place was blown out of the sky, or off the internet. My secret secret lady friends told me some horror stories about the fall out. That scared the hell out of me.

Then there were the atfs who used to get jealous. Because I would flirt with many other ladies, some atfs would write me nasty emails about things I'd written in posts, and or reviews. Some wouldn't see me for months before realizing how dumb that was and apologize. The make up sex was always great, but c'mon now, we all see other people. That's the name of the game. Why get jealous? Beyond that, two of the ladies actually stalked me. That also scared the hell out of me.

So bring it forward. Now I'm in need of a new place to pass my hobby time. I try out a few, but this looks like the best one of the bunch. But because of my other scary experiences, I have new rules. I'll never write another review. I'll never let a lady know who I am handle wise. It makes no sense to become a VIP. I'll still help out other hobbyists here by posting things I deem relevant from time to time. It's actually quite nice being totally anonymous. If people trash talk me, who cares? And I still have high end ladies, who have also migrated from that other place, to give me stellar references. If high end references aren't enough, then it's cool. I'll simply move on to the next lady. I'll eventually run into a lady who won't insist on a TER message. Who won't insist on me sending a pic of myself. Who won't insist on me sending my job information. That's the lady who gets my $600.

It matters to me for the purpose of my menu. I would never post my menu on my website, and so TER will be the main source of my do's or don'ts, and also, a "how our time together will go." Questions that are quickly answered by being a VIP member.

IMO, not having VIP is sheer lunacy if you are a real hobbyist.  If you don't see providers, and are just part of the board community only TALKING about sex, then I get why you wouldn't need it.  However, I can't imagine anyone who is spending $250 to $500 per hour and up not having the ability to read reviews and see the full profile just to save a lousy $30 bucks a month.  If I were a provider, I would just assume no VIP means you were just cheap, or stupid, and probably don't have the potential to repeat, so why should she bother seeing you in the first place.

Just my opinion.  Go ahead.  I can take the heat for what I say.

I have had VIP a few times, twice for reviews and twice using Target gift cards I got as perks from my job.  I used it to read a ton of reviews, and now have a list in my phone of providers who fit my criteria in case my ATF or other regulars were to fall off the radar.  I don't need VIP to get links to their websites, so the only use it would have to me at the moment would be to read the 14 PMs currently sitting in my inbox.  I don't really want to spend $40 just for that.

much more organized than the average hobbyist, so if its working, good for you.  I hobby a lot in the Kgirl world, so there is a steady turnover of girls, so stockpiling reviews to last for months or even weeks in some cases would not work for me.

There are other things you can do besides review to get free VIP.  I haven't reviewed in many months and I still rack up free VIP days most days.  You need to learn the system, van, and I'm not explaining on a public board (or even in private, so don't ask).
