Onetime I got a Valentines stuffed bear holding a fake sruffed rose and heart. The heart unzipped and held a few Hershey's Kisses. As we were meeting for dinner first and Valentines day was a week away, I thought if I stuffed the fee in the heart with the kisses it would be a descreet way to pay her without looking like I am passing her an envelope full of cash. I've had guys bring me a single rose and I loved it. One is featured in a home video and a couple of twitter selfies. Then it died, so... it wasn't like it was cluttering up my space.

Stuff that doesn't clutter like gift cards is probably a better idea. Flower(s) die, liquid gets consumed, (or brought to a party,) and gift cards get spent.

A single rose isn't extravagant if you think she might have another person that day, a drink is something she can either enjoy with you, or share with a girlfriend on girl's night out.
