Can You Handle the Truth?

A thread below captures an article written by a former Montreal provider (the article is part of her blog with many entries.  A clarification, the OP, who is NOT the author, cut and pasted the article (this created confusion among respondents).

I found the article to be intriguing.  An honest view of part of a woman's 8 years in the biz and her struggle to cope with civvie life afterwards.  The article is not bitter, just her truth as she speaks it.

Many of the responses attacked the post.  I find this extremely disturbing for this forum.  If women or other posters on the board disagree with you or don't openly suck-up, you attack them as losers?

I relish the part of TER that invites creativity, provides humor, invokes deep thought and inspires us sexually and otherwise.  Please save a place on these forums for us.  Mob-rule can be found everywhere else we tread...

Peace...

interesting if we had her thoughts from when she first started also. After 8 years as a provider I'm not surprised with her jaded reflection. My guess is when she first started she had every intention of not only making and saving a lot of money but loved her work. Even if she only saw 10 clients a week for those 8 years that would be well over 4,000 men. Thats a staggering number when you think about it

I read the post later than some and by then it was clear to me that he was showing us someone else's article or blog as it turned out to be. The confusion might have bothered some. But as to the main article I didn't really find it all that objectionable. I have met others who are even more calculated and straightforward so her look back didn't offend me. I can't imagine what it takes to fuck people that you're not attracted to on a consistent basis.  This hobby has certainly taught me that I shouldn't waste my time trying to fuck my wife or anyone I don't find very attractive. There is choice - sometimes its expensive but its there.  And I certainly understand looking back and wishing I had the same money - whenever I have a bad quarter!  I was surprised by the fact that she is resolute enough not to dive back into her profession for the money!!

"I'm sure I'll get over it with time and not be so bitter about being broke, lol! Things could be worse I guess so I'll try not to whine too much about my money woes.

Besides, tomorrow is payday! "

No girl should ever by penniless in this business.. A girl can escort for 8 months full time and be able to live off of it for  10 years if she managed it right. Crazy.

As has been pointed out by others, escorting can be a numbers game.   For those who manage it correctly, they CAN and DO pick and choose their clietelle.  But these women invest their funds, plan for other things and in general are as intelligent and as educated as any that I have met in other aspects of my life...  They can also be as ignorant as women (and men) that are in all walks of life...

If you let this profession (or any profession) define who you are, then you are lost.  The take home message from all of this is, if you are not happy doing this work, get out.  There is now way to make it work for you, much as if you cringe at the sight of blood - don't be a surgeon... Simple...  This blogger's problems are bigger than being a provider- if she is now unhappy with her current job, go back to school and try another profession, whatever, but please do not blame everything of someone else.

Ciara, I do not know you, but your posts that I have seen throughout the months that I have followed indicate to me that you should at the very least have a TV talk show - your advice is just plain common sense with a trace of sarcasm...   or at least enough to reflect reality...

To all, Life is, after all, what you make of it... look at me, I lost my planet and now anytime I come near a piece of it, it harms me...   so that is my lot in life - never to return home - to have to wander as a "stranger in a strange land."  lol

I am not sarcastic.. people just dont take truth well. .Straight out truth always looks like a joke or sarcasm unfortunatly.

said it was an article/blog was not there initially. So, it sounded as though this woman was just whining and complaining just to hear herself talk. (go tell a friend) That being said...it would be fine if someone needed to do that GOD knows there are enough people on the boards that could understand and help. I "attacked" because I thought she was just bitter and forcing us to read her woes. If you want to put it out there, fine but we are all entitled to respond how we see fit. Had this been the woman posting, and this woman prefaced her rant with "I need help" or "can anyone relate" or "I just had to get this off my chest, and I knew this was the place I could do it"........don't you think the "Mob" would have been more receptive? Hell, there probably would have hobbyists trying to start a fund and help her out...probably a lot of the same ones you are accusing of the Mob-rule mentality.         Let it go.

I've worked at some job since I was 16, even during college I worked to help pay rent and put food in my stomach.  I take during the good times you never prepared for the future, e.g. put any money into savings.  If she had written about how  hard it was to find love, or to get back into the dating scene, I could have empathy.  Apparently, the only thing she wailed about was lack of money.  I'm sure I'm not alone, but there are many things I do without.  Too bad you couldn't keep a few good-looking, non-weirdo clients, as a part time job.  Since she had to deal with so many people she didn't like, kind of sort a like what the rest of us have always had to do in our jobs, deal with people we don't like, but we had no power to fire them or choose not to work with them.  Boo-hoo.  We all make our bed.  Mine is made pretty well, it's not the best model on the market, but it's functional and provides a good night sleep, and it's big enough for two people.
