So I'm touring to a new area, and have a pre paid reservation for a hotel that requires a hotel room key card in order to enter the hotel/use the elevator. I got an amazing deal on the hotel, so cancelling and re-booking elsewhere is not feasible.  
 
 
Clients and Providers, what do you do to circumvent this little obstacle?  
 
On another note, I'm ecstatic for the East Coast Fall-licious atmosphere:-

Take a walk around the lobby. Im sure there is a quiet place wgete people can talk on their phones. See if there is a place to hide yhe extra key. Ive had a few ladies do that.

I know a provider who had a similar situation at a nice East coast hotel, and had to meet each client in a lobby that was not that large. Obviously not discreet, although since she is low volume  it was doable. But don't know how you can work around that Julia. Would be interesting to see if anyone here has a solution.

There are several ways around this depending on the layout of the hotel.  

You could arrange to meet in the bar if the hotel has one.  

Or, have Johnny text you and hang out by the elevators, you take the elevator down to the lobby and as soon as you arrive, he just joins you and you return to the room.  

Or if he's savvy enough and there is enough traffic he can 'draft' another guest up.  

Others will tell you to hide a key where he can find it. To me, this is too much work and i don't recommend it.

This is why I don't book through hotwire or priceline if i can't see the hotel ahead of time. Then I call them on a blocked number to ask if they have key cards for their elevator access. More and more hotels are using key cards, so I don't think its worth the money I'll save to use hotwire. I'd just say, whatever method you choose, be careful about how many clients you take, especially if you're there for more than a day or two. often key card hotels also have cameras, and whether you're hiding a key card, or meeting them in the bar or lobby or whatever, if you do it too much they'll notice. it's probably best to do a combination of these.

If you are not causing a disturbance to other guests things are fine. Stop the yelling and loud moaning and and no one will ever notice. Especially when the bill is paid at checkout. Yhe thing I hate are the maids but none of them speak English anyway.

CCTV cameras are everywhere, so hiding the key is a poor idea.

Instead, just tell the guy you'll come down the elevator.  Describe your clothing and he describes his appearance as well.  You get off, then wait for the next elevator up.  He sees you and walks over.  You discreetly nod, and go up the elevator together getting off at her floor.

I've done this several times, and never had a problem

If I am seeing someone who is a newbie, with no references. I like the fact that then they are forced to meet me in a public place, and if anything feels off I can just go back to the room, and it's much harder for them to follow me. (I've actually never had to ditch someone, but I like the added security).    

I just meet them in the lobby, and then take them to the room with me. It's never raised a single eyebrow as far as I am aware. Good luck, and just go with the flow!

A provider could line up women down the hall way outside her door (with numbers - and one of those "Now Serving Signs" and a cash register) and nobody would say a damn thing...  Hell, the hotel management would be afraid of a discrimination lawsuit and LGBT pickets if they so much as called up to inquire why there is a line around the block....

BTW...  Has ANY woman ever gotten busted for being a customer outside of a sting.   Honestly - I am interested; not just making a rhetorical point...

....no I don't think that a "jane" has ever been busted. Not to say that it never happened but not that I am aware of (and I've done my research!)
It is to my advantage being a female monger when it comes to issues like this. My waiting in a hotel lobby isn't very conspicuous since I guarantee that no one would suspect why I am really there (heh heh heh).

We have a local provider who has an in call, but you have to meet her (at least the first time) in a nearby parking lot.  Then you follow her car to her place and walk up to her in call apartment together

Tape (or place) an access card inside an envelope somewhere inside or outside that is discreet and relatively easy for him to locate when he confirms his arrival on site. Send him the floor only (and in some cases, a floor above or below) to meet and then walk with him to actual room. This has provided mutual discretion and safety for me in several cities.  

I've had clients that prefer to avoid public exposure, do the same for me when going to their hotels.

That is really common in many hotels. More and more it's harder to find hotels that don't require key cards for the elevator.  
There are many ways around it. Meet in the lobby/bar/restaurant/sundry store/parking garage, etc. Hide a key. Meet on another floor that may be accessible. (Sometimes there are certain lower floors accessible without the card.)
For me, almost always, when seeing providers in those types of hotels I have been able to simply "draft" a guest as the Senator put it.  

Meeting each other, based on appearance / clothing, is what has worked for me on several occasions, without any formal introductions. I have used the fake phone call on one occasion: I'm talking to my cell phone (NOT a real phone call) and she is walking or standing nearby and can hear me say, "Yes, it's me. Yeah, yeah, ... Hay, I'm losing signal. I'm about to get on the elevator. I'll call you later." (I should get an Academy Award.)  

If possible, I prefer to meet on an accessible non-lobby floor: cafe floor, mall floor, parking level, health club floor (if accessible).

And do remember: CAMERAS ARE EVERYWHERE, including the elevators. If you get frisky too soon, you'll be recorded and be making the rounds of the security guys as they exchange copies of their favorite activity. Maybe the guys want to be on their highlight reel, but I think that most Providers do not.

Most key card access hotels don't require the key to get to the 2nd or 3rd floors that are often public floors used for meetings and conferences. You can usually determine which hotels have this option by looking at the hotel's website and the amenities. As a client, I usually get to the hotel early enough to be able to casually take the escalator or stairs to these floors. The lady can suggest where on these floors to meet.

For those of us who live and work in the area, it is more discrete than meeting in the lobby or a hotel bar?
