I was flipping through the "Poll Archive" on TER when I came across a previous poll that asked whether respondents have had BB Full Service with a provider. 43% said "Yes." (So, 43% of us have had BB FS with a provider at one time or another.) Is it me or is this number surprisingly high? It obviously happens (e.g., see a few posts below entitled "Accidental Bare Back"). Can anyone (especially providers) elaborate on why this occurs with such frequency?
1) Some hobbyists started many years ago when HIV was not an issue, and BBFS was pretty common.
2) Remember this is a single instance of BBFS
in all their experience. Even if they have seen 100 providers and one did the BBFS thing, then the value was true.
3) There are certain women who simply do allow BBFS to "regular" clients.
It most certainly does not mean that 43% of sessions out there consist of BBFS. The number is almost useless as a statistic because it is comparing the happening of a single event versus the total number of hobbyists.
I understand your thoughts/rationale, but the number still seems high to me. I did try to make it clear in my original post that I recognized that the percentage was based on the number of TER users who have had at least one instance of BB FS (as opposed to 43% of all sessions being BB FS), but I still find 43% to be a very high number. I was especially surprised given the many posts on this board steering other hobbyists from participating in such activity. I suppose it's just one of those things where people get carried away in the moment and feel that it [getting an STD] can't happen to them.
Maybe I'm just too ugly. No one has ever lost their sense around me. First hobbied in Europe in mid 80s and they were very safe there too. It just seems impossible, but apparently not, that this happens. Maybe I just have been lucky by choosing rational girls?
It happens just the way it happens with any man & woman. Things get hot & heavy and both brains switch off. All you are thinking about is feeling good. It is the same mechanism that causes unplanned pregnancy. Afterward you both say, "I don't usually do that but what happened, happened."
We found out that there were many hobby boys who started back when the majority of escorts didn't use condoms in the 70's (and 60's). They were simply interested in not getting preggers.
You could do a serach, I bet, around the date of the poll and get the full post.

Recently, I had a telephone call at 1:30 am that woke me from a dead sleep. Since it seems that everything bad for me comes late at night as a jarring phone call, I tend to flail around simultaneously trying to turn on a light and answer the phone. For me, it must engage the 'fear-flight' syndrome, as I start breathing deeply with a rapid heart beat. It would certainly be easy to injure yourself, at least until you get yourself composed.
Worse yet, it was just a junk-fax.
I've been one of the fools that has went in BB twice in the past couple years. Once with a girl I clicked with and I actually wound up seeing out side the hobby. BB was a mutual choice initiated buy her. Heres the other that literaly scared the hell out of me. A girl the first and only time I saw. We started our session and she was about to climb on top with out an effort to use protection. I stopped her and pulled a condom out of the drawer and slid it on. I asked her if she was worried about pregnancy or HIV and her response was pull out and she was going to live forever. After a couple minutes of reverse cow girl she pulled the condom off with out me knowing. I was freaked out for months until I finally got a clean HIV test after 3 months. I see that that particular girl no longer adverties on Eros so I assume she dead with my dealings with her. Be careful guys.
From what you've written, it's not clear about the caliber of provider. While many of the ladies we know here know better, it's possible that the SW variety is less cautious. Just speculation.
