In 6th/7th grade, boys gym class. We had ropes we were challenged to climb & if possible reach the gym ceiling beam where a bell could be rung. I wasn't particularly strong nor athletic at this age, but my technique allowed me to slowly climb this. At first I'd go hand-over-hand pulling in closely to my chest, while also clenching the rope between my thigh & crotch. That gave me an anchor point from which to extend higher on the rope. It was probably 40' to climb. I was slow, but got to the bell & rang it. At this point I looked down & felt tired. I was scared of loosing grip and sliding down out-of-control.  I reversed my method and slowly eased down. It was at this time the rope sliding against my jock strap got me erect. This felt good and I was no longer scared. I've no idea how long it took to get back to ground. But I knew I wanted to get back in line and do this AGAIN.

Same thing happened to me.  It was ninth grade in the Boys Gym.  I never had the strength to reach the top of the rope, but this day I had it for sure.  I was only a few feet from the top but something told him if I kept pulling myself up I'd shoot a YOOGE load into my gym shorts;  So I hovered there, not willing to give-up and not willing to soil myself.  Finally, I gave up, unwilling to embarrass myself.  I don't have that problem any more.
