Would it be possible...

to set up an index on the home screen that would display which boards have had posts added, and when those posts were added?

Given the paucity of posts lately, it would save me and I'm sure others lots of time to be able to see what boards have new posts rather than going through each one individually.

For several years, someone (that would be me :-) ) has been suggesting that TER switch to using any of many good Open Source (Free) Forum Software packages. Many others agreed with the suggestion.
.
Many of those forum packages are built to show where the new posts are since your last login and have lots of other good features. TER never replied to or acted on my suggestions. At this time, I do not see them applying internal programming resources to adding ANY new features. A simple change risks breaking too much other stuff.

and others, on other boards (General, Newbie), too.

One old reply mentioned that real Forum Software lets users select an avatar for personalization of their posting ID. Providers might just choose a thumbnail pic of themselves, but it would be interesting to see what some of the Knuckleheads would choose as their avatars. (Question for General: "What is your avatar?")

this was my avatar.

Anyone care to guess who it is?

Or someone made up to resemble Johnny Depp? Depp had kind of a Wooden personality.

It occurred to me that some of the few remaining Knuckleheads still here might not recognize Knucklehead Smiff (above), sidekick of Paul Winchell and Jerry Mahoney.

It is Edward D Wood Jr., the Hollywood director for Plan 9 From Outer Space among other low budget but inspired sci-fi/horror flicks from the 1950s.

Ed was played by Johnny Depp in the bio-flick "Ed Wood", which came out about 20 years ago or so.
