That's why the ALIAS feature exists on TER

The post by McDuff on the LA board (Alright, true confessions... --- Mcduff® (1/14/2004 2:17:54 PM) mentions multiple logins.  From reading his post it is not clear that multiple logins were what got him banned.

I have thought that perhaps having another login to do reviews from would be the ideal way to review more honestly, without fear of retribution (and no, not to hammer anyone).  I have made a cursory search for any mention of rules pertaining to this, but have found none.

Is there any policy about this?  If there isn't, then I assume doing honest and non-duplicating reviews would be acceptable?

Thanks.

If you post using an alias, your username is hidden, eliminating fear of retribution.

This thread on the Suggestions/Policy board from May 2001 prompted the creation of the ALIAS feature.

I understand, but, if I am not mistaken the reviews go under your log in name (user name).  So, if you are known, post, and chat with that name, then your reviews also who up under that name as well.  If I was starting over I might do things differently.

I guess my question still stands.

We would really prefer you only use one username.  Mcfuff was not banned for having more than one username.  He was banned for the way he used them to deceive the TER community.
