Available Now Ad Board

TER should have an Available Now Ad Board like P411. Weekly ads are all well and good, but they don't tell you who is available in any given city on any given day and at what time.

A variation on that would be a composite TER calendar feature.

I think that there has to be some free open-source calendar program out there. Customization would allow the searcher to narrow down by zip code, etc.. There might have to be a character limit and requirement of an active link to a TER ad or other Ad.

If you ever agree with one of my suggestions PLEASE don't come on here and support it. You have this VERY annoying habit of suggesting the most complicated solutions to the simplest problems. Remember KISS? You should have it tattooed on your forehead.

Personally I think Zack's idea is a great one, the EASIEST way to implement it IMO would be to create a separate "available now" board for the whole country, unless and until there was enough activity to warrant separate regional boards. Providers who were available for and who welcomed last minute appointments would be free to log in and off the board much like the way P 411 does it.

For the record, I am a big fan and frequent user of P 411's available now feature. I think it would be great if something like it were implemented here on TER.

The best feature of the P411 Available Now Board is that the ad stays up for 1 hour before it times out and drops off the board, but if you log in again before the hour is up your ad goes back to the top of the available now list keeping the list as current as possible.

While showing who is available now would be helpful, I’d also like to be able to post on more than one region’s board per week! Right now we’re limited to one board per 7 day period, and one more if we’re posting about a tour. I’m in northern NJ (literally 5 minutes from NY) and split my appointments equally between NJ and NYC. It’s frustrating to not be able to utilize both boards.

I understand that TER doesn’t want providers posting on EVERY board (“I’m available to be flown here, so it’s valid!”) but if you’re legitimately working in that region, it would be nice to be able to advertise there.

There are other cities with ad boards where similarly to your example, there is another board covering an area very nearby, where providers could easily cover both cities at the same time without “touring.” However, I think it would be hard for TER to police which providers are legitimately available in multiple areas simultaneously, or which particular boards to allow them to advertise on, while still disallowing providers from just spamming multiple ad boards.

Maybe they can figure out a way to make it happen, but in the meantime, I have suggested this in the past to providers in your situation.

1) Alternate ad boards. Place an ad on NY board every other  week and use the NJ board on the alternate weeks.
2) in your ad, mention that you are available in the other city. For example in your NY ad say “also available in NJ.”

Neither of these are against TER ad rules and are reasonable ways to get around your issue. Good luck.😊

It wasn’t a specific ad board or anything. It worked through the TER messenger system. Providers could opt in by selecting in their account if they wanted their online stays shown. If they did, then every time they logged onto to TER they showed up as “online.” If you were looking at new reviews or searching reviews, the currently online providers always showed up at the top. You could contact them through TER messenger.

They did away with messenger a few years back, probably because it was not widely used. With thousands of TER providers there were only a handful ever on the “online now” status and it seemed like it was always the same handful.

the TER messenger to show that I was online/available now. At first not that many were using it.
Then it caught on because towards the end there was so many ladies logging-in some guys and ladies were complaining.
Because these ladies were at the top of the new review list but some had not had a new review in years/months.
It worked wonderfully for me I got quite a bit of business from guys who couldn't plan ahead but found they had some playtime when getting to town.

Why not create a last logged in board similar to new reviews
This would show most recent log ins by providers
One thing with this site is that if a provider has not had a recent review or you are not looking for someone specific this would give you some options of providers that actually know this site exists and that they most likely will be responding.
Another site does this and seems to have a large number of
Providers who log into move their add forward as does P411
