It seems to me that there is a need for some sort of new member orientation here. I'm not talking about the newbie board or newbie manuals. I am talking about a road map of sorts that would help people figure out where to post.

The selection of different boards here on TER has been well thought out and really goes a long way towards keeping things topical and interesting. The problem is the new kids seem to be ignoring the mastheads at the top of the boards and just randomly posting wherever they please. The Love Goddess in particular must be getting awfully tired of re-directing two or three posts a day to other boards simply because the newbs are ignoring the explanation at the top of the Erotic Highway Board and posting irrelevant "hello" messages etc...

We have cream pie videos popping up on "In Search Of". We have all sorts of Porn Star questions that also show up there. We have Regional Board questions that appear on the General Board etc. etc...

Some sort of directory at first log-in might help to point people in the right direction.  Sure some folks will just ignore it but who knows, if enough people read it and get started off on the right foot it may help move things along a bit more smoothly. The mods would have more time to, among other things, approve edited posts so it doesn't take twelve hours for a post that was already up once to go back up simply because someone wanted to fix a typo.

It's just a thought...
