Suggestion and Policy

But will they ever develop enough of a sense of humor

I've never seen that happen before.  Has anyone else?  It's at the end of a branch in the thread called "Negotiating with a hooker 101."
I don't object to it any more than closing an entire thread to further comment (I don't really like either one).  But it does seem new and odd.
Happy to have TERAdmin chime in on this.

and it's not exactly a "new" way of doing things. When DC was the mod here before me, he would often end branches that ended up on the "right hand" side of the page by telling the posters to "take it to chat", I used to do something similar, but not as nice, usually something like "take your personal shit elsewhere". lol

So, it's not really new, and IMO it's not odd at all, I think you'll notice the same trend as you will in checking to see how many of your posts end up getting pulled. There will be an inordinate number of these where Turdy and Tardy are involved, as so many threads they post on end up on the "right hand" side of the board.

Given the choice between closing threads, closing branches, or pulling half the posts written on an entire page, I think this is by far the lesser of the evils. I have been critical of admin in the past for being "reactive" instead of "proactive" in the way they moderated the discussion boards, and a huge critic of RAP, but I think this is a huge step in the RIGHT direction if you ask me

If we get a thread that's getting out of hand because of one or two posters, we'll delete the idiot's post and put something in its place, such as "deleted for being an idiot". If the whole thread gets out of hand, then we move the whole thread to a dumping ground, where it's available to moderators but not to general members.

Funny how the meekest man becomes a savage Hun when behind a keyboard or the wheel of a car.

Yes, the board where such posts end up is named "Ramblings of the Criminally Insane."

And wish I could disagree with you (just because I like to) but I'll provisionally agree and hope it works out as you suggest.

But if you actually read the branch, USGrantLover had something to do with it, too, as did I.  Of course, USGL was right.
Way to go, Pimpy!  Half right is a big improvement for you.

One of the general board post that disappeared was right after I posted a link to the LA local board that refuted a providers point of view. did I break a rule and cause it. Both threads are gone. I don't know why,

The moderately bad posts would just get deleted, but the ones that were so bad that we wanted every moderator to know about them would end up in the Trash bin

Perhaps someone is going to start paying some attention to the boards without being prodded by a RAP bot. Frankly, I would rather see a personality and have someone say "STFU" or your posts will never see the light of day, or "you two need to get a room with cage" (The good ole days).

It looks like you and "T" were the lab rats. Congrats :)

TERAdmin

However I see that DiscussionBoardAdmin is still here as well.

Maybe they could come up with something more creative?  I like GaGamblersSmarterthansmartbrother.

Or will we see simply TERAdmin2, TERAdmin3 and so on?

to allow an alias such as "TERadminsretardedbrother"???

Somehow I don't think they have become quite that open minded and self effacing, not quite yet at least.
