Suggestion and Policy

A profile is supposed to be just that, a "profile" not an ad

Would it be of any real benefit if the profile format had a short "comment" section? A provider could add what city she's currently touring to, or any restrictions on who she will see, or hours available--whatever she wants. She could change it at will, or update info as she deemed necessary. Even things like "please call before emailing," or vice versa, could be helpful.

This would maybe go a long ways toward solving the question of what changes should be made to the drop lists.

Also, IMO, it should be a limited space so that it amounts to more specific information than pasting a whole ad.

Just a thought, but wondering what others think. I'd find it helpful at times when researching.

What you propose would get us one step further towards the reviews being nothing but another ad venue for the women.

The reviews already link to her ad and/or website, THAT is where her announcements (ads) should be.

For me, though, there's something--I won't say annoying--that sort of derails when AFTER reading the reviews, perusing the profile and menu, and checking the photos on her site, when I read something "unusual" like "I do not respond to text or emails," that she wants to hear the voice first. Especially if I already emailed her my screening info.

It's not a big thing, but it seems like one provider wants a place that states who she will or won't see, another wants to alert you that she's not available for outcall during the daytime hours, and a third wants to make sure the hobbyist knows something else specific to her. If there was a checklist for all the various possibilities, which are subject to frequent changes, the profile would be absurdly (IMO) long.

But yes, it would probably turn into an ad just because she wouldn't want to show anything about herself in a less than complimentary way.

You've probably answered the question. Not a beneficial idea.

It could turn into a forum or her to take issue with something in her latest review.

We need that like a hole in the head.

I can see it turning into a mess, but on the other hand, I think we should have control over some fields on our profile (and by that, I mean be able to change without filing a problem report). We ought to be able to update our phone numbers (or remove them), email, hair color/length. etc... some basics that are NOT controversial. It would also be nice to have a field for preferred method of contact.

Much of that info is probably on a lady's website (especially if she feels it's important to know), but I also know that only a percentage actually read a website.

You can do it by using "contact us" or by email to TER. Or are you saying you want actual control over your profile, as in making changes yourself with simple clicks from your own computer? If so I disagree with that. That is what your ads and websites are for, not your review profile on a review board.

Contact us or problem report... either way, it takes time, and clearly a lot of ladies don't maintain their profile. A problem report is what TER recommends for minor changes, so that's why I mentioned that.

And yes, I meant change something with "simple clicks from your own computer," but only on fields where it is not really subjective and there isn't much incentive for a lady to lie. What can be the harm of a lady updating her hair color/length/type? Guys frequently don't get that right, anyway; for example, I have long hair but my profile originally said shoulder length. If we file a problem report to change it, I am also certain this is an area that TER would not challenge for proof (unless someone is known to cause problems). Is there really harm in a lady updating her phone number? I am NOT advocating that we be able to update everything. The number of "harmless" fields perhaps is too limited for TER to want to bother with, but I also think profile accuracy would improve if there were some provider input.

That's sort of the size and function I envisioned.

Stuff like "Currently a blonde," or "In Chicago till Thursday," or "Please contact me through voicemail."

But I can see it getting out of control if longer messages were to put on it. Maybe a space the length of the subject line on a post or email? Even at that, ad stuff like, "Hottest Spinner in Town!!!" Might wind up there. And maybe that wouldn't be all that bad, though basically useless advertising.

While those changes you talk about might be "harmless," allowing a member to change her own profile takes away TER's total control of the profile. The profile belongs to TER so they should have total control. Even simple "harmless" changes should go through an approval process. Not to mention it would probably be difficult technology wise, to have you be able to make changes on some items but not others. As far as problem reports and feedback taking time, it is usually a few hours up  to 48 hours, and the simple ones you talk about are usually quickly handled.
