Yes. That showed a lot of class. Only in golf....

For those of you who didn't see the end of the Heritage golf tournament yesterday, Brian Davis once again reaffirmed that golf is a gentleman's game as he called a penalty on himself on the first sudden death playoff hole for hitting a loose "impediment" as he began his backswing to hit the ball out of the hazard. The resulting 2 shot penalty "gave" the title to Jim Furyk.
Great going Brian!

It is refreshing to see such displays of class and honesty that other sports severely lack.
In addition, Brian was going for his first ever win.

Yes, very classy.  However, because he didn't finish the hole, he might be DQ'd and receive no prize money at all.

Would tiger have done the same?

Due to the fact that it was a sudden death situation, "holing out" wasn't required because there was no way his score would have beaten Furyk. For the official record, it'll say that they both finished at -12, (or whatever it was), with an asterisk saying Furyk won in a playoff. Jim did have to hole out however in order to beat Brian's double or triple bogey on the hole.
