World Series

The postponement of the Rockies-Phillies game due to snow and 18-degree weather begs this question: in the remote chance that the Yankees-Rockies meet, when do you think the Series will  end? I'm guessing Christmas.

That might seem in the realm of possibility but there are 2 things that come to mind for those of us in the northern states. First, the TV networks dictate night games which almost guarantees colder temperatures and snow or rain for players and fans in places like Denver, Boston and New York. Thank God for the Twin Cities' dome. And they (the Twins) profess they can hardly wait to get outdoors with no thought of recent games that would have been rained out or a chance of snow yet this weekend. And lastly ... Damn, I hate the Yankees and their obscene payroll. The Twins could have a retractable roof for their new stadium if they had that kind of money to work with.

Just have the Dodgers play the Angels in the WS. Temps in the 60s/70s, clear skies, and better looking girls. And after the ass whupping the Dodgers just put on the Cards, and the same by the Angels on the Red Sox, it's  not far fetched for a SoCal WS.

My prediction for a Yankees-CardinaL World Series just went down the toilet. Now I'm predicting Yankees-Dodgers.

They will have to be booed, and that won't be right. One thing to cheer Bamtino and Joe Girardi in Cardinal red during regular season in 2002, can't do that with the team that used to play in Brooklyn!  That would be like cheering for the Mets!  Hopefully, the Phils or Rockies will prevent that from happening, and we can boo and hiss them w/o feeling guilty...

while Torre's book pissed off a lot of people (even though I felt most of it was true), he still has a lot of fans in New York, who would probably cheer him!

Angels finally got some retribution. I'm not only glad they swept Boston, but absolutely thrilled they beat that arrogant ass Papelbon.

How ironic it will be if Manny Ramirez makes it to the Series and the Red Sox won't!!!!

UCLA Bruins, I'm glad SoCal has something to root for. :)))) THis weekend, the OSU Beavers are going to LA to humble the Trojans.

OSU is the following weekend. Dude, I am a diehard Bruin alum and fan. They've been real difficult to watch the past few years, and Saturday's game against Oregon was no different. If I remember, you said you are a OSU alum. Sorry, but USC has already lost its one annual PAC10 game. USC by 17.

they've been during the past few years.  Having said that, they tend to get noticeably better as the year progresses, and they're certainly good enough right now to beat Notre Dame.

however will have to play in Autzen stadium and that will be difficult for the Trojans to accomplish. If my memory serves me, I believe the USC Trojans have not won in the State of Oregon for the last three years. We shall see what numbers will change for USC; the losing streak in Oregon or losing a maximum of one game in the PAC-10? Either way it's really an interesting run for the Roses this year. Oh yea, there is no Pac-10 Rose Bowl this year.

The only way there will be no Pac-10 team in the Rose Bowl this season is if the Pac-10 champ makes the BCS championship game.  Since every Pac-10 team already has at least one loss it's unlikely that a second Pac-10 team would get a BCS bowl game bid if USC or Oregon makes the BCS title game which is played a week after the Rose Bowl game.

Only issue there will be the 4pm starts so that the east coast can see the games.

....I am actually hoping for a Dodgers / Yankees Series and it will be titled, "the Revenge of Joe Torre".....then again that is IF the Yankees can get past the Halos.....could be a big if ;-)

Yankees over Phillies in 6 games.

It would be nice to see a Joe (Girardi) vs. Joe (Torre) match-up of managers but the Phillies have way more offense than the Dodgers.
