of all time?  There have been quite a few, but my vote goes to the 1962 Packers, which was probably the greatest team of all time.  That team was unstoppable, EXCEPT for the Thanksgiving game against the Detroit Lions, when Alex Karras and Roger Brown destroyed their offensive line.  But overall, the Lombardi Packers from 1961-1967 had an incredible offense.  There were simply no weak points.

The offense of the 9er's in the 80's. The two-step drop back;can't beat it homey. Some may argue the lack of a running game. Pish posh.

How about the greatest teams to NOT win the Super Bowl: My 2 picks would be the 76 Steelers, who had 5 (or so) shut outs & played without Harris, Blier, & couple others in the AFC Championship game against Oakland....The other would be the 1987 SF 49ers who finished the season with the #1 offense and defense but got blasted by Minnesota in the NFC Divisional Game...

When old players couldn't do the job anymore, they had an uncanny ability to find more than adequate replacements. When Paul Hornung and Jim Taylor left, Donny Anderson and Jim Grabowski came in and never missed a beat. Jim Ringo was ably replaced by Ken Bowman.
