The unassisted triple play to end the Phillies Mets game.

The play was not a real difficult one but I gotta
admit it was pretty good .

Thank you

The Braves are a so much better team without that big hole in their batting order.

An unassisted triple play has got to be one of the rarest things in baseball.  To my knowledge, virtually all of them were done by second basemen.  There have been 15 of them in baseball history.  That's even less than perfect games thrown, of which there have been 18.  Hitting four home runs in a game has happened only 15 times too.  Two grand slams in one game has been done only 13 times, and only Tatis has hit two grand slams in one inning, which is amazing when you think about it.  Three hits in one inning has only been done 5 times, and, obviously, there haven't been too many .400 hitters, particularly those who have done it more than once (Cobb, Hornsby and Sisler).

I played on a softball team here in Atlanta back in the spring and summer of 1982 and we turned triple plays in two consecutive innings. Never, ever heard of that happening before.

No, I didn't start hobbying until several years later. There were some great strip clubs here in the ATL back then that I used to frequent.

they were really civvies just turning a few tricks to earn some extra cash.  But between the 4 of them, I was busy between 1979-1983.

natural reaction for a middle infielder attempting a force out.  Did he really know he got the runner who was on 2nd out for not returning on a caught fly?

Yes i think so because right after he stepped on second he turned to tag the runner coming from first.
It did kind of fall in in lap,(hit and run was on and a line drive hit right to him and he was playing 5 feet from second base) but I think he knew what he was doing.

It's ironic that he kicked the two previous grounders to put them in that situation. Only one was scored an error, but both seemed to be playable.
