....indeed he pulled a gun on a teammate in a NBA (&/or municipal arena)he should be kicked out of the nba for life...period! there not even allowed to bring a gun to anything related to the nba/work in their collective bargaining agreements. if the nba doesn't want the image they have playes who are thugs & gansta's...banned for life....set an example to the rest of the players re:code of conduct, & live up to their contacts....

hopping off soapbox!

More like folded and loaded like a shotgun just waiting for the DA to drive him around the court room like a flat tire

Dumb fucker !  I hate gun laws in general, but he should be NBA banned for a while just for stupidity.

If Arenas had been more contrite in the days afterwards, I think he would have had a lesser punishment. But he said last night that he didn't think he did anything wrong. He refused to accept responsibility and be accountable. I think that pushed Stern to do what he did.

He had 3 in his locker, not just one. His teammate, Crittenden or something like that had one of his own if I read correctly. That makes four total in the locker room.

After the Indiana - Detroit fiasco several years ago you would think the league / teams would do a better job policing their players.

Imaging this scenario, Arenas has guns in his locker, some fan or fans taunts him during a game. Nothing to stop Arenas from stuffing his oversized shorts at halftime, coming out in the second half and start shooting at the fans.

A year and a half ago, the wizards gave him a $114 million / 6 year contract guaranteed. Arenas has been on vacation since. I bet Wizards management called Stern and told him, they don't want to pay Arenas anymore and need a suspension right away to invoke any "conduct" clause in the contract.

A feel bad for the coach Flip Saunders, he is a decent coach and a good guy. I am not sure he thought Washington was this bad and is probably regretting his decision. Don't be surprised if he resigns at the end of the season.

A friend of mine took his 14 year old son to a game in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago and said that he was actually nervous based on some of the thugs that were sitting around him.

He is a trememdous talent who clearly isnt functioning well.
BTW the gun count is up to four (like it matters)..but I agree with everyone here. He needs to be gone.
Sad very sad but these guys truly dont get it. Gilbert actually has done some very good things for kids in DC setting up various charities. he is very funny sometimes and is a fierce competitor but screws are loose or just missing.
The curse of The Bulletts (as Tony Kornheiser used to say) continues..
