While I feel sorry for Detroit...confused_smile

I think Jim Leyland just tendered his resignation as manager of the Tiggers.

I have been a JL fan since the early 90's with the Pirates, but the past few weeks have been sad for Detroit.  As much as that city needed a winner, even if they were destined to be slaughtered by the Yank-mes, to have the lead in their division for so long and lose like this...well, he probably should not step foot in Detroit at this point.  Maybe it's not all his fault, but there is no question that after today's game, capped off by keeping Rodney in there for three innings, that he will be blamed for it.

Hi,
a passing comment-I'm sick and tired of officials blowing games-Inge was hit by the pitch with the bases loaded and the ump-who makes 6 figures-missed it-and they miss them time and time again-would love to see instant replay-with maybe 2 challenges per game-enough is enough-Leyland is a class guy and I wish him the best-1rob...OUT

have always been part of any sport.  It happens to all teams and yes sometime during critical win or go home games.  I personally do not want to see replays of any kind they slow the game down.

I agree that Leyland is a class guy, I also wish him the best!

Now official disclaimer;  I am from Minnesota.... but remember that bad / missed calls affect all teams and this opinion is not based of this one game but many many years playing and coaching.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply-My point is that players should determine the outcome of games and not poor officiating-and bad calls seem to be particularly egregious in MLB-IMHO, getting the call right is much more important than an occasional slow down of the game-especially when championships and even careers can be at stake-

Best to the Twins-1rob...OUT
