We had a discussion last week about Smoltz and whether he was through or not. Based on yesterday's performance, I'd say he's still kicking! 7 k's in a row? Wow! Very happy for him cause he's a great guy.
I guess getting back to the National League was all it took. Good for him!!! He'll be a boost for the Cards, both as a 5th starter and a second pitching coach.
His next start will be against the Nationals. A good way to get re-acquainted with the NL. Being a STL fan, I hope this is a big boost for his confidence come October.
I wish him well. Smoltz is a standup guy!
Agree with all previous posts, I guess his golf game will have to wait awhile. Now he just has to pitch like yesterday, a few more times. Hard not to be a fan of Smoltz!
He's already stated that he plans on playing the Senior Tour.
The Padres aren't exactly a good hitting team.
I agree with the fact the Padres are not a good hitting team, but he struck out 7 guys in a row! Once you get above Little League, that ain't easy!
So wonderful to live in San Diego and be a baseball fan.
