I have 2 of those Ping wedges with the "old illegal but legal" (huh?!) grooves.

Not as good a bite as the Macdaddy grooves that are now illegal on PGA tour - but are legal for amateur play.   But they are, according to Mickelson - better than the "new legal" grooves.

Geez, golf is getting like reality TV!

To be illegal. However, they were grandfathered in as legal maybe 10 years or so ago.
They are square grooves. I believe he is only using one or two wedges.
So he is not cheating. Anyone can find the older sets with the square grooves on ebay.

A also own a complete set of the beryllium-copper ping eye 2's.
I think the value of my set has gone up substantially
