Could be, since they'll probably have to re-align the teams
I saw a post here the other day about the WNBA team in Phoenix winning the championshop, and send congratulations. Then today, by coincidence, word has been announced that the team in Detroit is moving here to Tulsa, and will start playing next season. There will be an official announcement tomorrow, but apparently they are a 3 time championship team. So looks like a new rivalry may be in the future?
that are left. It's hard to keep up with the teams because every year, it seems that somebody folds, then they get a new franchise.
As much as I hate to see something more bad for Detroit (and the shock DID win three WNBA championships), between the competition and the economy there, the move to Tulsa actually makes sense.
As much as people disparage the WNBA (including many on here), I think it is an enjoyable second tier sport, and can hopefully continue finding it's footing. No, it will never be the NBA, but there are plenty of good players in the league, and more coming all the time. If they can manage it correctly, it could become a viable sport, and God knows there is nothing I like better than a sweaty athletic woman.
