Why no congratulations to  Philadelphia  Eagles for an awesome game, stopping New England Patriots
from another night of football fame ?

I'm fortunate  my only bet was a free late bet on TER.

Are you  silent from  money lost taking the spread, throwing down big time on New England?

Congratulations Philadelphia, for a very  exciting Super Bowl,  big time bedazzling  Belichick all night,  great trick play
pass to Folees,

Most gamblers won't brag when they lose, anyone willing to admit your pocket change was hurt.

No doubt a few  of you won the bank, feel free to chime in.
Full time Philly fans are likely still partying.   :-D

First, I am not using "worst" here to describe disinterested or bandwagon.  Eagle fans have supported their team for ever.  But the bottom line is, Eagle fans as a whole are obnoxious and downright abusive. I have worn my Steeler jersey in just about every stadium in the league. And without question, the worst verbal/confrontational abuse I received (and this includes wearing it in Cleveland and Oakland) was in Philadelphia....,and there is not even a close second.  You can't just sit there, mind your own business and just watch the game without people constantly in your face yelling and cursing.  It's four hours of abuse. It's pathetic.  There is a reason the Old Vet had a jail.  And it just carries on from generation to generation--- You'll see the same abuse at a Sixers, Flyers, or Phillies game....

And despite all that, I was still rooting for the Eagles, b/c who can ever root for New England...

This is why I'll never go see any of my teams play in Philly.

to see a Pat win, Philly played a great game and deserved it more. And Philly won it, rather than New England losing it. Hats off to Doug Pederson for a game plan that utilized Foles' strengths. So, congratulations Eagles.

New England was the favorite, meaning that if you bet on NE you "gave" the spread, you didn't "take" it.

Personally, I watched the game (sort of), I didn't bet on it and quite frankly I didn't care much which team won. OTOH, I watched every second of the NCAA Championship, I don't know if it's the crybaby attitude of so many of the NFL players or just what it is, but Pro football just really doesn't hold a lot of interest for me lately, but I will concede SuperBowl LII was a great game.

For the record, I am neither a NE fan, nor am I a "hater" they are just one of 32 teams in the NFL, as a gambler I don't love or hate teams until I have money on them. lol

If I had taken the Patriots in the point spread, the Patriots  must win by 5 points or more for my bet to pay off.
If I had  taken the  Eagles in the point spread, they must lose by 4 points or less or  win the game for me to win my bet.

I don't believe most  adults need to be a gambler to understand how the  point spread system works .
On the other hand millions upon millions of Americans fail at Math.
The recent stock market dip and math illiterates calling it the biggest drop of all time is an example.
When semantics debate math, context is often lost.

I suppose I could  have structured my OP differently  to suit  your astute technicality, however  I stand by
my praise for  Philadelphia Eagles winning the Super Bowl with fashion.

For the record,  while you're on stand by  chiming on the sports channel,
I find it obvious you don't win as much as you hope we'd  believe, or you'd have the guts to post your
   bets before game time.
I'll admit I rarely bet on sports or consume alcohol.
I would never want to become a persnickety drunk, or worse, broke from gambling.
I'd rather place my bets on a sure thing, 2018 stock market. :-D

The  Patriots have never been my favorite team or anywhere close, though I do respect their will to find a win in the jaws of defeat, when most teams would have hopelessly crumbled.
Regardless it was a Great Game unless you bet big on Patriots.  :-D

If the final Super Bowl point spread changed by game time from my example at the top of this post, feel free to stick those points up your ass  to your heart's content, you sly all time  winner gambler.  :-D
