If that happens, I wish him well.  He's a great coach, and he did wonders for Florida State.

finishes in a row (1987-2000)

First team to go wire to wire as #1 (1999) with only Southern Cal (2004) duplicating that accomplishment.

Team of the decand in the 1990's with 2 national championships. [as an aside--Miami was the team of the decade in the 1980's and Florida surely will be the team of the decade 2000-2009 ==> quite an accomplishment for the state of Florida!]

Yes, he put FSU on the map.  In the early 80's FSU would go anywhere and play anybody.  There were wins at Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan, LSU, Notre Dame, etc.  I was in the Big House in 1991 when FSU hung 50+ on Michigan).

28 straight years of bowl games (longest streak in the nation).

Second in most wins (to Joe Paterno) in Div. 1 Football.

Yes, his record vs. Florida is 17-18-1.  Remember the choke at Doak when Florida was ahead 31-3 at the start of the 4th quarter and the game ended 31-31.  Spurrier was pissed.  The 5th quarter in the French Quarter was an FSU Sugar Bowl win.

He said in interviews on Saturday that he wanted to coach for one more year.  Agree that he is a great coach, who has done wonders at FSU, wish him well whatever his decision is.  Remember he is not at old as Joe (PA) Paterno, Bobby is only 80!

Yeah, too bad he had to go out like he did. He gave some of the best press conferences and interviews I've ever heard.

speculation that they will try to get a Florida bowl game and get West Virginia as the opponent because of his ties to the school and the state.

He's never been a bright guy, and after Mark Richt LEFT FSU to coach Georgia, Bowden was exposed as the buffoon he REALLY is !  That was a LOT of years ago.  Bowden's teams were never the same without Richt.

As a Gator I'll miss the folksy buffoon at FSU. I wish a taxidermist could stuff him with that dumb fuck hat, and let him continue "coaching" FSU ad infinitum on the sidelines of Tallahasee !
