But the most exciting game of the day was USC-Notre Dame.

USC won it by a TD, but Notre Dame was on their 4 yard line at the end.  But Clausen had 3 opportunities to get them in for the tie (win), but he couldn't do it.  Of course, Notre Dame got down there thanks to 2 incredibly stupid penalties by the USC defense.  Had Clausen done it, his Heisman hype would have been excrutiatingly annoying, but now I'd say it's over for him Heisman-wise.  The best offensive player for Notre Dame is the receiver Golden Tate.  That guy is simply terrific.

It's a good things USC won; otherwise, Lou Holtz would be even more insufferable than he is now!

still has Holtz on the College Football show.  He comes across as an old, babbling fool, and while he clearly knows football, I'd much rather see someone else talk intelligently about it without Holtz's biases and blatherings.

sun rises and sets on South Bend. Lou Holtz is still there because he's a Notre Dame shill. I love it when Mark May jumps his case because of his bias.

You can just see the difference in talent, and its been that way since Pete Carroll came to USC. Just go to a USC practice, and the hitting and intensity is sometimes better than the actual games.

Why does USC have to lose its one annual game to a lowly PAC10 team? Otherwise they would have 3 or 4 BCS championships this decade. Just once I would love to see Florida and USC.

Alabama is not on Florida's schedule. Does the SEC have a conference championship like the Big 12? Even though I wasn't impressed by Texas' win over OU, Texas may run the table, and we will have another SEC/Big 12 BCS game. Imagine the hype of a USC/Florida game at the BCS/Rose Bowl.

and play a real schedule?  At least one more loss on the schedule before a bowl game loss.

will eventually hurt them.  They are a perfect fit for the Big Ten from virtually all perspectives, but they may eventually join the Big East given that they're already integrated into the Big East basketball schedule, and they would likely feel that things would be easier for them football-wise in the Big East.  Needless to say, the rest of the country would simply laugh at them and hate them even more if they did that.
