Actually is the NBPA that has the power. And I don't see the union giving in anytime soon

Most of the experts thought he'd stay in OKC.

My team (Rockets) suck right now, always have loved KD being a fellow Longhorn alum.  Not counting chickens before the eggs hatch, but the Dubs should be a team to reckon with for the next 2 to 5 years.  I see multiple chips with this squad.

e amount of backlash that Durant is facing for his decision not to re-sign with the Thunder is ridiculous. I can't believe how angry fans/media/fellow players (both in the NBA and other sports) are with Durant for leaving OKC. What, super stars must stay with their team and only 2nd and 3rd tier players are allowed to leave?  And its not as if this is baseball and Durant simply left for more money. He left millions and millions of dollars on the table by leaving OKC.

Also, how many "If you can't beat em, join em" quotes do we really have to read? So what if he wanted to join the Warriors. Are there rules in place that you can't sign with an already made championship caliber team?  The Warriors were a GREAT story last year and will of course be must watch TV again this year. Durant made a very smart basketball decision. The talent on Golden State is incredible and they are set up to be really good for the next 5 years.

Although watch out for my Knicks....Melo, Rose, KP, Noah and Courtney Lee.....I am thinking 74 wins and their first title in 40 plus years!!!!!!!!

I have zero doubt the NBA at some point will step in to correct this as it is so damaging to them.

Now, there is really only one possible final next year: Golden State v. Cleveland, barring any major injuries.

That means the reg season is virtually meaningless and the play-offs, outside of the finals, will suck.

The NBA has to get control back. Not 100% sure how they do it but it will have to be through the collective bargaining process.

The new television contract has added $$$ to the NBA coffers. And the next chunk of coin will come from the commercialization of the players jersey. The money isn't big, to start, but could add a good revenue stream down the road.

Fans will stay pay to see games the season will not be worthless. Inwouldnt be so sure of who will be in the finals next year.

OKC but I love the warriors that's my hometeam:)Back before Curry when people used to look at me like I was crazy when I said I liked the warriors even thought they weren't winning anything.lol
Durant with the warriors we will see how next season goes.I wonder if Westbrook is going to stick around?
What I was really surprised by was Dwayne Wade leaving Miami going home to the Bulls.

Jack I am also thinking that the starting five will be great and they should have several players on the all star team and the all league teams.  However, a large reason that Golden State matriculated as far as they did is because of the bench.  Notice the composition of this years team is the bench isn't that strong.  That is where the conundrums come in because if you can get lucky and get certain players in to foul trouble then the opposition has a shot.  When the season starts, we will see how important those role players were.  The one player that they shouldn't give up speaking of this is Andre Igoudala. His defense, rebounding and offense were invaluable and he was an excellent locker room guys as well.  The question is when you pay guys that much do you have anything leftover for those who might play a lesser role but one that is almost equally important.  I can tell you from a defensive standpoint that they are certainly going to miss Bogut.
