Hi, as everybody knows I am not the savviest on the whole computer thing. However as you all know I am a bit kinky(*wink) and as many do I am an active member of an adult website. I enjoy reading and looking at videos like everybody out there. My problem is that all of a sudden I can not control the windows that open up when I try to connect to the internet. I have even looked at the properties and instead of it reading msn or blank  it reads one of these sites???????? Is there anyone outthere that could help me with this. My biggest worry is that my kids may try to get into the computer and find themselves very entertained to say the least. Second is that the website I use to be a member of I cancelled for I can not enjoy it due to all these windows poping up. The worst is that some of this stuff is not legal such as animals etc.  I am not into this and it really ruins the moment for me, if you know what I mean.
Help!

I hate it when these sites rewrite your internet protocol! You need to reset your home page. Just highlight the one listed in the internet properties and type in the MSN one or Yahoo or whatever. Then reboot your connection. If that does not work, email me and I can come and fix it for you.

If you're using Internet Explorer, look under tools/options and see what your default web site is. Click on Use Blank. Also try clicking on the button to delete all cookies, internet files and history. That's about as clean as you can get IE. I don't know anything about Netscape.

Also click your Windows Start button and look at the programs listed above the list Programs, Documents, etc. I've seen some adult internet sites load an executable file in there. Look for icons that look like a white window with a blue top boarder.

Hope that helps.

Under Netscape, it's similar.  Just look under "edit" "preferences".  This should take you to the navigator part where you can set what homepage you go to - or you can set it for none...  And I would also try everything else suggested in the previous post.

Hope this clears everything up for you.

I understand your problem Mara.  Some of these sites even add a bookmark/favorite in the favorites file.
I routinely do a "find" for cookies and cache and temporary internet items and delete them all.
There is some software available that stops pop ups as well.
