My bitch this week is TER listed  Providers who...
   1.   Do not reply to emails or calls requesting an appointment
   2.  Setting appointments, then not answering calls or emails to follow through.
   3.  Insisting on text messaging.  Some of us do not text, why can't cell phone calls be made?
Customer service is not just F.S.

I'm fairly certain that the other side of the equation would share the same sentiment and tell you it's a disproportionate ratio.

But that's my opinion.

BTW - these are all good points.  Additionally, I have experienced the following:

1. Provider answering the phone is a total biotch.  This is at the very beginning of the convo so obviously it wasn't something I said.  It was before I could even get any words out.

2. Being late and overtly lying about appointment time - Many will set a time.  If we are lucky they will call to say they are running late.  I can't tell you how many experiences I have had where the appointment was at least 1 hr later than scheduled.  So ... I'm a big stickler on time and this is a huge piece of "dis-respect pie" and kinda ruins the mood from the start.

3. I am left feeling like something I have seen 1 provider on this board throw in our collective faces many times.  This provider refers to it as her "Golden rule" and it is "The one with the pussy makes the rules".  Inference is "Live with it!"

I am a moderately successful business person and I can tell you that this business model may work for them in the short-term but is not sustainable.  I as one can not wait to see what happens under a different set of circumstances.

As many of you know I am pretty outspoken on this board and not malleable to giving the providers what they want to hear.

The thing many hobbyists are forgetting - WE ARE THE CUSTOMER.  I am sorry to say this but STOP ACTING like some pussy-whipped BF because they could really give a crap about you NO MATTER what they have you believing.

Happy Hobbying and gents - if we need to live under the "Golden Pussy" sharia law then lets have our own and live by "Bros B4 Hoes" !

ME - AL

Them insisting on texting me while I'm driving en route to them bugs the hell out of me. I'm driving ladies, and not able to text, so just call me and/or answer your damn phone!!!! MAJOR IRRITANT  for me; and, as those who know me realize, I don't irritate easily.

I've been hobbying in TJ for so long now, I've forgotten all about these headaches.  It amazes me what some guys will put up with.

My problems include using booking forms which still do not get a reply   I do not text, don't even know how.  Aren't those who text able to simply call or take calls?  Over a period of one week a provider made two appointments and then within hours of the second appointment rejected one referral because she did not accept FBSM referrals.  Emails are fine for me while I am at home, but once I have left home to travel to the appointment, only the telephone is available.
As to giving up and moving on, I went through at least 7 or 8 providers with no success.

You can learn to text in 5 minutes...it's not that hard. Don't let technology pass you by...at least the easy stuff like texts.

And if you can...avoid becoming too grumpy as time marches on. I've never seen it serve anyone very well. At least that's my own personal goal

I'm kind of curious what type of phone he's using.  It sounds like he's using a phone from 10+ yrs ago.

You've got +60 reviews, mostly Asiancy girls it looks like, and can't set up FS with an independent. you must be doing something wrong or sending the wrong signals. I've had my share of "no call-backs" and even a few same day cancellations, but 7-8 in a week has to be more than bad luck.

go back to the K-girls or try TJ.

when i read his post, i thought it was a little weird too.  what a luddite!  i thought.  i'm 62 and i text and tweet and facetime and luv the internet in general.

but then i set up a date with a touring lady in her early 20's from sf.  i emailed her saying she could text me her room number when i get to the hotel tomorrow.  she emailed back saying she doesn't text, she only emails.

so if a millenniel wont' text, don't be too hard on rocky!

You won't find a nicer guy, never rude, only eager.
I have a new phone the last few weeks and I hate it.  Calls people I did not intend to cal, etc, etc.
My situations often involved the internet/emailing, not just the phone.

You sound  like a good guy...stick with it - you'll get it.  I'm pretty sure technology will keep marching on and won't wait for us.

If you're not already using an IPhone, I would highly recommend one.  They're relatively easy to use and the staff at any Apple store will gladly explain everything to you.

Just maybe a bit behind in using new technology.  We all know that ladies have different preferences for communicating.  Two of my favorites prefer only email. Others want you to call, especially if we are new to them.  Others like texting because its easier for them to respond versus having to listen to a number of voice messages; a text message gives them then info they need.

I personally prefer to text, its easier and faster.  Not to mention, when they provide the necessary location info, I can quickly use voice command to activate the GPS function to get there

I believe Rocky's got about 20 years on you, BPJ, so he probably would rather use semaphore flags.  Nevertheless, he's one of my heros for still being in the hobby at his age.  I hope I can still hobby when I get to his age.

My response is to this part of your post.  No there are many times where you can text and not call.  You are with family, in the grocery store, otherwise engaged.  During those times you would be able to text but it might be a bit uncomfortable to be talking on the phone.   So I see both sides of the issue.  But come on, texting is just the way it is for a lot of people.  And it isn't that hard to learn.  When you are on the phone you have to give your undivided attention and sometimes I am not willing to do that until I know what the person is wanting.  SO many guys just call without any intention of setting an appt.  They do things to themselves while on the phone with us.  Even if we are talking about tame stuff.  Kinda irritating if you ask me.   So there are many reasons a person may want to text or get an email first and it really isn't so demanding of a request.  At one point you probably didn't use a computer.  But to keep up with the times you need to learn.  And its a great way to have a closer relationship with your grandkids.  They don't mind answering a text but probably don't answer many calls from grandpa.  Just my 2 cents.]
