I wonder why more providers dont use this to advertise. As a hobbyist this gives me the most accurate idea of what the provider looks like. Has anyone done facetime or skype prior to an appointment?
Skype makes sense and I would imagine many will do it after screening for their safety. Video ads are another thing entirely.
It's not cheap to find someone that can make a video worth watching, and it's a non-trivial amount of work for everyone involved. You also can't easily hide your face in a video, which most ladies seem to want to.
FaceTime to keep me stoked about coming back, but have never done it before a first appointment with someone new. There is mutual risk. You may not like her, but she also may not like you.
I have no problem providing this for my regulars, but for a new client it is different. When using skype, and/or facetime you can still be recorded by the other party, so trust is a must. If the provider blurs her face in all photos what is her incentive to video chat with you prior to booking?
Are you providing a tribute for her time, or is this just a free service to hopefully book more appointments? I would be concerned of having my privacy violated by a man who may have cruel intentions. After being in this business for many years you try to be very cautious because not everyone is here to play nice. I am sure if your whitelisted by several reputable providers you may have an excellent chance & you provide a contribution. I have successfully utilized skype prior to booking, but I did receive a gift for my time.-- Modified on 2/21/2017 11:43:57 PM
