it seems that the older stars: Tiffany Mynx, Keisha, Jeanna Fine, Lynn Lemay, and Sunset Thomas escort but no longer do any movies and the younger stars like Amee Donavon, Aurora Snow etc make movies but do not escort. Why do you think this is so? I would love to see Jeanna Fine and Tiffany Mynx in a current movie.

ask yourself this:  if you were making (on the average) $600 for a B/G scene (perhaps even a nasty one with DP/GB/Facials) would you continue to do that for EVER?  working with -- sorry FOR -- producers who are egomaniacal jerks with rubber checks, smelly actors who go limp in mid-scene and (occasionally) with a girl who is starting her own bakery between her legs?  

WHEN ... you could tour the country (even the world), meet legions of your appreciative fans, dance at the best clubs, schmooze with and date rockstars, and get paid for pleasing a fan in one fifth the time you spent doing TWICE as nasty a fuck compared to what you typically HAD to do on a filthy movie set but for half the price your adoring fans are (gladly) willing to pay you?  LOL

Because the producers stop hiring them.  The need for new blood and new talent in porn is very great, after a girl has been around a few years she is old news.

As their status as a video/dvd star fades some begin escorting as a means to make a living.  The younger ones who are cranking out film after film don't yet feel they need to.

As an aside, in the HBO documentary Sunset Thomas claimed to make far more money working at the Bunny Ranch then she ever did making films.

The main reason that you do not see ladies of the likes that the gentleman mentioned is because the adult film industry does not see any added value as we do. When a Pornstar reaches the 30-year-old mark, they become unpopular to the industry. Film producers do think the audiences out there are only seeking the young naive type Pornstars. I personally like both the young and the veterans.

Other reasons is that the ladies shoot for a year or so and then go into featuring instead were there is the big bucks if they have a good agent that does not rip them off.

There are many more reasons out there but these two are what I consider top.

Futhermore, there are indeed young pornstars escorting out there such as Alexa Rae, Miko Lee, Jewels, Olivia Saint, Nikki Diamond, Stevie, Cherokee, Catalina, Gauge, and L.A. Lamann to name a few.

The conundrum is that unless you're an established star, you have to keep making movies to continue to get feature dancing gigs, and I'm assuming it's similar with escorting.  For every Terri Weigel and Taylor Wayne, there's dozens of Jane Doe's who are escorting as pornstars because they've done a few movies... if she stops making movies, who's going to call her a pornstar in two or three years?

I've also heard that the bottom has fallen out somewhat on Pornstar Feature Dancing, that it doesn't pay what it used to...

but unfortunately I do not remember the name or the label.  This was her first movie with her new reddish colored hair.  I believe that she is planning on making a few more movies although she had not made any in 3-5 years if I remember correctly.  Too me she looked better than ever.

Your point is well taken FE. We've had these debates on here before, who is entitled to call themselves a "porn star". Fans may forget after 2 or 3 years, that so and so ever did movies, but the ladies that did those movies sure don't, and they continue to claim the "porn star" moniker in many cases long after they've stopped doing porn films. You forget that the porn industry is driven by the demand of the viewers.  The majority want to see fresh faces and get tired of seeing the same girl after a while.  I was hot on Jenna, Brianna Banks, Julia Ann, Celeste... but after seeing their 60th scene, it got boring.  I think in some cases, the girl leaves the industry because certain companies don't want to film her anymore and she can't make what she did in the prime of her career.

There is a new interesting take on pornstar feature dancing, and indeed dancing in general.

In San Diego, there is a rather sophisticated attack on strip clubs, in which a Federal grand jury has indicted three Democratic councilmen for taking "bribes" from these clubs. Well, OK, the "bribes" were rather small and went only into the campaign funds of each councilmen, and were not used for personal use. The cover story by the feds was that the strip clubs were buying influence with the councilmen to loosen the present 6-ft distance rule in San Diego between dancer and patron. Yet, as far as I can tell, none of the councilmen did anything that would advance the agenda of the stripclubs. Indeed, you could probably make much a better argument of such influence between land developers and councilmen, or between energy companies such as Enron and preferential influence buying through campaign donations to the GOP.

Oft times it is said on these and other boards that Ashcroft & George W. play no role in these types of prosecutions. Here, however, their greasy fingerprints are all over the landscape.
