What do you guys think of this site and the girls who appear in the videos ?

Do you consider them porn stars ?

They really look like for the most part genuine college type girls wanting to earn a bit of extra money.

There are a few underground forums which have real names of many of the girls with links to their instagrams , twitters etc

Forgetting about on camera, i think it's scary how many females in the world would have sex for money, i reckon it could be as high as 30

IMHO, I'd consider the so-called amateurs as porn stars when they pick up work from producers from Reality Kings, Brazzers, Bangbros, Naughty America, porn pro, Evil Empire, Diabolic, 3rd degree etc. Having a video for Casting Couch-X may count since it's part of the major network and CCX's stars seem to start to set their feet firm in the industry.

Besides CCX, there are sites like ECG, Manojobs, backroom casting couch, etc., producing the videos in the same niche.  Many of the newbies may end up doing just a few for  these websites and never catch a break in the porn world or didn't feel comfortable to do it more. Who knows?

Star to me, means the best. And however you want to quantify that: most popular, best performer, best looking, etc. Whatever. It has to be something that makes the actress the best in someway over a sustained amount of time. Not just a scene here or there.

Any woman who shows up does one or few scenes for any of the following: Reality Kings, Brazzers, Bangbros, Naughty America, porn pro, Evil Empire, Diabolic, 3rd degree, Casting Couch-X, ECG, Manojobs, backroom casting couch, etc., is not a porn STAR in my opinion. It has to be sustained excellence, awesomeness, the "IT" factor over more than at least a dozen different scenes/movies.

But feel free to disagree.

If some third party publishes my book, I am a professional writer/author.  If some gallery represents my paintings I am a professional artist.  If some record company released my music I am a recording artist.  If some magazine puts me in their fold-out section, then my Angel is a Centerfold.  Maybe not a playmate or whatever, but a centerfold.  Thank you J. Giles band.

And is someone pays me to fuck on some media I am a pornstar.

I may not be a superstar.  I may not be "A" list.  I may not be iconic.  I may not be your cup of tea.  But in the popular vernacular of American culture, I am a pornstar.  And certainly within the meaning of this discussion board, I am a pornstar.  My god, those girls on Backroom Casting Couch and Girls Do Porn and College Girls are hot as hell.

I beg to differ.

Who are the following women:
   Sarah Gadon
   Helen Stern
   Kari Coleman
?

(No fair looking them up :-)

They are actresses.  They are not stars.  A "star" is someone whose name you recognize and that most people would recognize and, when you see their name attached to a project, makes you want to see it because you recognize the name, and know that they will give a good performance.  And the same can be said for anyone who sees that name associated with a project - the name is recognized and makes someone want to see that work.

A secondary definition of a "star" is that the actress has to work for a professional studio and/or put out professional works.  Not amateur works.  Not someone with a webcam.  A professional studio, or professional photographers, or other known persons in the industry.  Not someone with a webcam.  If anyone with a camera or a webcam who photos themselves and sells or gives away the work or whatever could be called a "star" then the word loses all meaning because anyone could be a "star".  Perhaps in their own mind but not in reality.

The women who were mentioned in the other messages are porn *actresses*, no more, no less.  They are not porn *stars*.

For what it's worth, a "superstar" is someone who meets the criteria given for a "star" but goes a bit further - they are someone who, when their name is attached to a project, not only makes people want to see it, but generally guarantees some level of success.  There are few "superstars" in the porn world.

(Now, if you want, you can go look up those actresses :-)

In my view the use of the word "pornstar" on this discussion board is intended to cover the whole landscape, particularly as technology advances and the industry continues to fragment. VHS tape's are a thing of the past. For the vast majority of people, the idea of buying or renting DVDs is a thing of the past. Virtually everything now is online. And I think this board is big enough to capture the reality of what is going on in the year 2015 lest it become irrelevant…. :)

Well, your facts are wrong.  According to recently published statistics by A.C. Nielsen (as of August):

10% of consumer entertainment spending goes toward TV or movie disc purchases, compared to 6% for physical rentals, and 9% for digital consumption

61% of US consumers buy or rent physical movies or TV shows, compared to 53% for digital, 41% for both, and 27% for neither

20% of US online consumers buy or rent only physical movies and TV shows, compared to 12% for digital only, and 27% for neither

So, the "vast majority of people" still rent or buy dvds as opposed to watching them online.  It's true that the landscape is certainly different than it was a year or two ago, but it could still change back especially if the FCC changes the rules on Internet access (the whole "open Internet" thing), or companies stop putting movies online because they are too easily stolen, or other reasons.

But, that's irrelevant.  What I said about professional vs amateur still holds true.  What I said about name recognition, still holds true.  In fact, most of my points still hold true regardless of whether the movies are online or on dvd.

We are talking apples and oranges -- I buy and rent DVDs of regular Hollywood content, but I cannot even place a number of years on how long it has been since I have done either for Porn content --  But, again, that is a side debate of little interest to me.  I have a ton of old VHS and DVD and they never see the light of day.  It is all internet for the vast majority of porn consumers.

The narrow definition some desire to give to who, in their opinion, is a pornstar, and thus, I guess, worthy of mention on this board, has always struck me as inexplicable and antiquated extending all the way back to the days of Fast Eddie.  It is 2015.  But, as I say, it's no one's job to convince anyone of anything.  The marketplace of ideas, if given free reign, will decide all such matters.  To me, the next Stoya doing fetish work online, and the next 81-year-old flawless cam girl to show up in a model house in Chatsworth to film her first two weeks of scenes are of infinitely more interest to me as my idea of the current model of pornstar than some name circa 1998 who happened to be on videotape or whoever.  But everyone has their own flavor to savor in this big wide world.

First off, I am not trying to star a war or flame you. Just pointing out a flaw in your argument. Just look at it from a logic perspective. And if you take offense and want to get angry and fight me, that is not my intention and I don't really have time to waste in getting some petty thread war.

Reread what you posted for "The are pornstars. This endless debate is downright silly."

Quoted from your own post:
"If some third party publishes my book, I am a professional writer/author.  If some gallery represents my paintings I am a professional artist.  If some record company released my music I am a recording artist.  If some magazine puts me in their fold-out section, then my Angel is a Centerfold.  Maybe not a playmate or whatever, but a centerfold.  Thank you J. That seems quite dogmatic to me. If this, then that.

You can't be dogmatic and then disagree with mrfrench's post on the grounds that he is being dogmatic. You were dogmatic first. And then further state that this whole thing can't be dogmatic, because everything is relative to a certain perspective.  You are just contradicting yourself.

Either hold firm that everything is relative or hold firm that there is a certain defined criteria. Don't try to play both sides.

There is a difference between a porn actress and a porn star.  That's like saying everyone who appears on T.V. or in a regular movie is a star.  There are 1000's of actors vs 100's of stars in Hollywood.  In adult movies there are 100's of actresses and far less stars.  Also, looks have nothing to do with it.  Sure there are many cam girls, porn actresses, etc that are very hot.  However, there are porn stars that aren't exactly smoking hot.

You are right, my position has a dogmatism to it all it's own.  :)  my bright line rule of inclusivity is meant to say that I think all of these girls merit mention and discussion on this board. If they are good enough for an IAFD page or a FrreOnes page I think they are good enough for this PS Board. IMO :)

According to the 2010 census, there are 30,672,088 females age 18-24 in the US.

Just let that sink in.....

Now look at how 100% won't have sex with me.....and probably 99% plus wouldn't do it even for money.

So I think girls who are willing to do sex scenes on camera or become escorts are rare.

Add to that how many of them qualify as "beautiful" (each guy has his own standards).

There really aren't that many and that's why we have to pay hundreds of dollars for their time.

God, this depresses me.

I love your post.  Statistics get me off.

I disagree about one thing.

And this I believe:  a HUGE number of girls will fuck for money if given the chance, and if they feel safe.

HUGE.  We are hound dogs.  And girls are whores.  I don't mean that in an insulting way.  Girls love to flattered and fawned over and valued and made to feel special.  Girls love the Julia Roberts character in Pretty Woman.  Most young girls today working in a bar or a restaurant will fuck for a buck if they are not actively taken.  As will many young MILFs.

I can tell you I have been experimenting with this for a long time.  And talking to other guys about it, as well.  Most of us doubt that that cute Applebee's or Twin Peaks waitress would ever fuck us.  But you know what?  Give the right girl a $50 tip or $100 or I have even seen $300 tipped to a female bartender.  Do that, and you get her attention.  You are now about THE most desirable male on the planet to her.  Doubt me?  Well, it is a leap of faith, and you have to size the girl up, but this I know: it works.  If you are willing to pay for it, a ton of young girls will try anything once...............
