A true legend has passed away, we mourn his and our loss.

Maybe it was a liberation for him,but we'll sure miss one of the greatest,a man that changed acting and life for many.R.I.P.

...give a toss beyond the normal it is sad another human being has passed cliches.

But Brando dying is different. For a minute I was genuinely shocked and moved. He had done his best films mostly before I was born and I never met the guy of course, but I could relate to his professionalism, talent and humanity. Men like that you admire, understand and even aspire to be like to some extent.

Who knows the real man, but the legend is a real legend. A man who touched others through acting.

I don't believe in god, but god bless him anyway. He's probably impressing the angels. That type of bloke.

Classy response from Catatonic; I think Brando typified the archetypal American movie icon. He was a hero to many, myself included, and his legendary performances set the standard for everyone after.

A legend we will all miss.

I wasn't found of him as an actor, but I always thought he was essentially a good man in over his head.  And while I didn't particularly agree with his choice of roles, he dedicated himself to his craft and was loved by most Americans.

All in all, his passing is probably a relief for his family and ultimately for the best.  It's heartbreaking to see a shell of the former person you've known and loved all of your life.

May he rest in peace.

Funny, you could use that same post word for word about Ronald Regan...

I remember the first Brando film I saw... The Wild Ones, and I was entranced by the brooding young actor and the skill he brought to his craft... he paved the way for Deniro, Pacino, and many of the less successful but equally talented actors like Dennis Hopper, Harvey Keitel, Nick Cage and others to make it in Hollywood. Without Brando blazing the trail, I doubt that many of them would have been given a chance.

And when he was all but written off as unemployable, let's give Francis Ford Coppala credit for insisting on hiring him for The Godfather, exposing a new generation to Brando's genius.

He stands at the apex with Olivier as the best of the best...

Godspeed, Marlon
