hundreds of applicants show up at various locations. some just looking for there first job, some looking for any type of work, just to work, others with 10 plus years of work experience swallowing there pride just for a chance at a job.  its a sad state of affairs.
fyi, don't think, "awesome! we are out of the woods. look at all these jobs being created."  do some research and you will find that McDonald's hired 50,000 employees last year as well for the summer season, they are just getting good PR by announcing a Hiring Day.

and let me beat you to the punchline I know some of you smart asses will make...

no, I didn't get the job :( lol

When I was 16 I did a 3 month stint in fast food, and as I dimly recall, it was the hardest job I've ever had. Not easy work, and at $4.35 an hour, it really sucked. The nice thing was that the company let you have free food for your lunch break, which of course that gave me the shits about once a pay cycle. One day I ate a fish sandwich, threw up for three days, quit my job, and became a vegetarian.

...and you guys wonder why I became a gov't employee.

But I won't eat it because it's so damn unhealthy.  What put me over the top was reading the wrapper on their most basic hamburger.  What really popped out was the sodium content: one stinkin' little burger contains 33% of the recommended daily allowance.  Add another burger and fries to that and you're done for the day!
PS:  Want to see the fattest, most unhealthy-looking people in America?  Stop at any McDonalds at in Interstate rest stop.

I worked in a couple of fast food restaurant in my youth, and they were a picnic compared to falling timber, roughnecking, and military service, just to name a few other jobs I had before becoming an evil oil baron.

flipping hamburgers might be menial work, but it doesn't even make the top ten hardest jobs I've ever had. Willy I always knew you were a pussy, I just never realized just how big a pussy you really are. Stick with government "work" you would never survive in the private sector.

I spent one summer loading 70-pound ingots from a milling machine onto a cart.  When it had about 1500 pounds on it I had to push it to the other side of the factory.  Did that over and over again.  Never got to sit down.  It kept me in college, that's for sure.

of course, during the election, no one clarified that meant your new career would be making change ;-)
