Today's Washington Post reports that there has been an increase in the number of women having an IUD installed due to the possibility the cost will increase if the Affordable Care Act is changed.

One 25-year old law student described it as "Pence-proofing" her uterus.

A woman will know if she is pregnant after missing her period.   Just have a blood test done, get RX for medically induced termination of pregnancy, you are done.

Menstrual cycles rarely adhere to expectations. So knowing, with certainty, that you're pregnant is not an exact science. Missed periods are extraordinarily common and, for women for whom missing periods is 'normal', it's not always an immediate heads-up that they may be pregnant.  

regardless: any woman who wants to get an IUD, and have it covered by her insurance, would be wise to get it done ASAP since it has been made abundantly clear by the current administration that significant parts of women's health care are not considered to actually be "health care".
