I don't understand the defense in Trump's current court case. Why would they bring in that witness for the defense? Did Trump override his attorneys advice? Everything was going his way until that judge admonished the defense witness by acting like a dolt. I am a no legal expert so someone explain why Team Trump didnt just do this:

Trump attorney: So, Mr Cohen, you were convicted of perjury when you lied to the Senate, correct?

TA: You were also convicted of perjury when you lied to the House of Representatives too, right?

TA: Were you convicted of campaign finance fraud? Cohen: Yes.

TA: Isn’t it also true that you were convicted of tax evasion? Cohen: Yes.

TA: Were you convicted of making false statements to a financial institution?

Cohen: Yes.

TA: And you admit to stealing $60,000 from the Trump organization?

Cohen: Yes.

TA: No further questions your honor and the defense now rests.
Perhaps they thought it might look bad to the jury if they didn't bring up a single defense witness. But they sure did a shitty job preparing Costello, who really went rogue on them and made the defense look terrible.
We'll see soon enough if the jury gave a shit.
It’s made up bullshit legal theroy to get Trump with a stacked jury.
The only question is hung jury or guilty. If guilty, (which like the made up legal theroy will be bullshit) how does this partisan hack of a judge proceed?
