Is anyone experienced and wise enough to know how the shutdown might affect us ?
It is difficult to believe the headlines. I can not really tell if they are elaborating or not.

Many thanks ~

wont be posting as much on TER as they will be at home with their wives.  In reality,  the impact of a government shutdown depends on how long the shutdown goes for.

it means you can't go to any of the Smithsonian Museums or the Zoo, have restricted access to many monuments, and can't visit any National Parks you encounter along the way.  These may seem like trivial things, but most of these school groups have worked for a long time to fund their trip (bake sales, car washes, etc.) and planned their trip for a very long time.  That the politicians from both parties don't relate to these folks (who are their constituents) is hardly surprising since they generally can't relate to ordinary citizens at all, but it's still disgusting!

The school should have scheduled accordingly, easier said then done.

I know you are operating in the confines of a school system. Now if that wasn't the case, the field trip to our nations capital could be more of a reality tour. Where they would visit the neighborhoods of DC, and see what life is like for the people who live in the capital of the free world.

You are right it is disgusting, law makers can't even keep up the charade that keeps them employed.

What makes you think WWII was waged for the greater good of the American citizenry?

That's not much of an answer.

I believe I benefit greatly from the sacrifices made by veterans, and current armed service people. However I can not deny the fact banking and corporate entities, benefit a lot more from those same sacrifices as you and I do.

waste me time with people who drool on themselves .

Dah dah dah Daddy me wants some meats .

if you are in denial of the fact we live in a capitalistic society

In the beginning it will only directly affect the furloughed federal workers and as time goes on everyone everywhere is going to be affected, how?

Retirees social security checks will be late, food stamps for the poor will run out of money, children needing food will go hungry businesses would not get necessary government services to export goods and list goes on.
