Time to get this back on track.

Saw this news article. Looks like when you don't have someone in the White House making a buck off of war, then certain stocks will take a tumble.

Let's the screaming begin.

before making your standard negative spin. Their stock is up in the after hours, albeit slight. HAL's Middle East and Asia business is only 20% of their total revenue. HAL is fairly global diversified company, and oil exploration is only one component. No I don't own the stock, but I once met their former Chairman/CEO. I wonder who that could be?

Somebody just opened a thread for those who want to drown in useless unprovoked drama..

Take a look at the company and what they do before you attribute politics with their current stock status.

My previous message was for Mr. Wonka... didn't want him to miss the excitement on the GD board.

your 2nd sentence is relevant. Last week unfortunately, politics trumped fundamentals between Obama's bank and insurance rants plus various senators coming out against Bernanke nomination. Somebody in the White House needs to draw 10/10 on every frigging wall. Dow above 10K, and unemployment below 10% is what they need to focus on to avert a November meltdown. Anything else is just background noise.

With the broader indices off about 5% over the last week or so Haliburton is still trading up about 80% over the last year and is only off about Three bucks of its 12 month high.

As far as income goes, does anybody remember that oil had just fallen off it all time highes in the fourth quarter of last year?

Just more uneducated and uninformed noise coming out of the mouth of Willie.

Hi Willy,

You seem to have fallen into the trap of equating correlation with causation. This isn't the only posting where you've done that -- you've also done it with mapping various economic indices against the current party in Congress, etc.

Really look into this. If you actually thought hard about this stuff, you'd see where you are incorrect.

:-)
John

I have linked economic performance (GDP growth & unemployment rates for example) to economic policies, such as tax rates.

I don't recall off hand linking party with anything.
