and I guess that could be it. Unlike the operators of The Emperors Club, Spitzer was never charged with any offense, so I guess he could get on the ballot. But it's hard to believe that, after having been Governor he'd settle for being Mayor. OTOH, perhaps he sees it as a stepping stone to run for the Senate. Seems improbable since Schumer and Gillibrand aren't going anywhere and Gillbrand has lots of support in the state and the national party. Plus, Spitzer would again be exposed to whithering critcism for his hypocritical behavior. And why do I think that, if he ran and was elected, he'd have to recuse himself from anything havng to do with prostitution?
Lots of people in NY likes him and admire him. He would win again, if he runs for the governor again if he runs after Cuomo's 2 term.

I don't dislike Spitzer because he likes pussy or went to providers. I dislike him because he was doing it while he was going after providers and johns for doing exactly what he was doing. It's called hypocrisy. No, in his case it's called blantant hypocrisy.
Having said that, I've watched his TV show and will admit he's a very bright, articulate guy. Would I vote for him? Depends. There are actually some good Republicans to vote for in NY, Bloomberg being a good example (though a RINO to most Republicans).
You are correct that he's now an Independent, though he was a Republican when he first ran for Mayor.
