But where the hell are they when a company like Wal-Mart takes billions of their tax payer dollars to build a store in their neighborhood, and when they pay their workers like shit, the company will even teach their workers how to apply for welfare and food stamps.

Where the hell are conservatives on this?!? Shouldn't this piss them off? Why doesn't it?

First they come in, then  suddenly we are paying shit loads of social benefits, and you know good and well you would be one of the first crying about how the "Evil Rich" have too much and should have their wealth taken to support them.

Like most liberals, you only look at the current issue and not the long term effects, which is why so many liberal policies screw the people they are supposed to help.

C'mon. This is just meanness for meanness sake. And it's costly. It's cheaper to pay a few social benefits now, and get a lifetime of contributions to our society that can span multiple generations.

A few weeks back I was reading some old news paper articles about the great fire in Chicago back in the late 19th century. The fire was initially blamed on some stupid Irish woman. The derogatory language against the Irish was jaw dropping. It was like reading Klan literature from the 40's if they were talking about blacks.

And yet, if you heard that kind of language directed towards the Irish today, most people would laugh. It would be alien in today's culture. Least we forget a guy named John McCain ran for President.

There simply is no reason to enact some sort of bullshit law that makes us treat one group of people differently from you. As soon as you do that, you open the door to the same thing happening to you too.

If we don't want illegals here, then fine, kick them out of the country. But we shouldn't have one group of people living in a privileged position, while we treat others like animals. Fuck that shit. It's stupid, short-sighted, and it's just plain wrong.

If this is the case, then why do you like Obamacare. Obama himself as well as the Congress are not part of it. They have a different system. By your own argument, you should HATE this legislation.

Hell, isn't that what we are supposed to be doing. Instead I hear people say, no we can't do that.  

Listen, I have a shitload of respect for a lot of illegals who come here and try to forge a better life through hard work, but we have a system, for better or worse. If we live in a world where everyone can do what is best for them, the law be damned, what kind of slippery slope is that!!!

To make matters worse it forces a new tax onto every citizen (notice, non-citizens are not accounted for in this act and therefore remain a drain on health care services).  I am for everyone haveing health care, but how we go about it is problematic with this law.  Once we do this, going back to fix it properly will be impossible.

People think that those who work hard and earn "stuff" were unfairly gifted.  Often it is only hard work that separates success from failure; at other times it is poor planning and responsible behaviour.  Our government now wishes to reward irresponsible behavior and hardly working at all... Why? one reason I can think of - it is easier to buy votes when there is no incentive to do the best you can.

Our society has now realized, we can vote ourselves "stuff."

That's the point of our system of gov't. So people can vote themselves stuff. We're the only nation in all of history who said that the point of gov't is to guarantee Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. No other nation has the word "happiness" in it's founding documents.

This is why we have self-governance. To ensure the happiness of the People.

so only the pursuit of your happiness matters? I love the fact that you supper impose your "self righteous" definition. Maybe you should have your iq reduced to their level, reduce your abilities to their abilities, and live their life for one year and lets see what your definition of pursuit of happiness after you lived their life. Gawd is there no compassion except what you see as your right? Don't others have rights also? You are so blinded by the fact when you deprive others of things they don't have the ability to pursue as you, you are only depriving yourself.

I was on board until it was never more, or never was.

The only time I have ever had health care, was when I worked a union job.

 
But now I should have to pay a penalty, because I don't think I need to insure my own health, or enroll in a government health plan
