I wonder what the Saudi response is going to be and what effect this will have on U.S. gas prices?
It "might", the Saudis are on a mission to destroy the US shale oil business, and are playing a giant game of chicken with us right now. Adding an extra 1 MM BOPD will actually help them in that respect, of course right now there will only be about a quarter of that amount hitting the market any time in 2015.
OTOH, since this is more about jostling for position going forward, the Saudis "might" not want to give up market share in the future to the Iranians, after all the Iranians and the Saudis aren't exactly "friends" So they might try to shut the Iranians out. So far at least all the pressure on oil prices seems to be downward, and believe it or not OPEC and the Saudis are largely behind the downward pressure, despite any public statements to the contrary.“We will be raising our oil production at any cost and we have no other alternative,” said Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, according to his ministry’s news website Shana. “If Iran’s oil production hike is not done promptly, we will be losing our market share permanently.”

China and India where the demand is growing. Iran and India plans to build a pipe line via the sea route and bypass Pakistan because Pakistan is not a stable country.
Before the sanctions India was Iran's largest buyer for both gas and oil. China and Iran is planning to do the same.. End result will be falling oil prices. Iran doesn't like the Saudi's and vice versa.I have to agree that Iran will sell it's oil, with or without OPEC's permission, but while I completely agree that the Iranians and Saudi Arabia are about as friendly as Laffy and me, the Saudis won't really mind the extra oil on the market driving prices down. The lower the prices go, the more US shale operators are going to go out of business and with the sharp decline curves in the shale operations, most likely with no new drilling US oil production will fall by more than the million extra barrels that eventually the Iranians will produce.
Most of the worlds oil fields are in decline, and without new drilling the loss to attrition will exceed all this extra capacity we currently have in the world. The Saudis are in the unique position to be able to weather this storm and with the Brazilian economy in disarray, the US shale industry on life support, not to mention the economic war we are waging against Russia, Venezuela et al, none of the major producers are going to be in any shape or mood to increase capacity, once the dust settles and we start buying gas guzzling SUV's by the train load, the Saudis will once again be in firm control when things turn around. The fuckup-in-chief already made sue we get nothing, other than totally screwed.

And I heard someplace else that no matter what we do, other countries are going to free up $60 billion they have of theirs so it makes sense for us to get something rather than the nothing the Right wants.
Iraq agreed to inspections, thumbed his nose at the inspectors for a decade, and then when we finally did do something about it, guys like you have said we went in on a "lie" ever since.
Without absolute proof positive, and most likely even with proof positive, a certain segment (YOU) would never agree to go in and bomb Iran, and if we ever get a POTUS like Neville Obama, we still wouldn't bomb Iran even if Iran actually went to war with an ally.Could it be because the American people have soured on this deal and a bi-partisan group in congress is set to vote against it?
No, that cant be it. LOLThat was evident to anyone, including the Iranians, who bothered to pay attention.
This totally lopsided "deal", where the Mullahs dictated and got virtually everything they wanted, is proof positive of that. I didn't realize until the other day NO Americans will be a part of the inspection process. Ugh... And the fact we STILL don't know what is in it, with these secret side deals, is an even bigger travesty. Incredible...-- Modified on 8/24/2015 2:20:46 PM
A VERY bad deal that many of us predicted months ago.
Now the best Laffy can come up with is some lame excuse that it will allow us to bomb them if they violate the deal. That is of course, "IF" we are even allowed enough access to have even the slightest idea that they are violating the agreement in the first place. The Iranians are smart enough to know that anything short of them admitting publicly that they have a nuke won't be reason enough for us to bomb them. I am just thankful that although I am not really much of a fan of Israel, we may have to rely on them to do what we don't have the political will to do. Of course Obama has also agreed to "keep them in check" another brilliant concession by our Suck up in Chief.Yes, Laff, people get duped. This is a surprise to you
The United States cannot bludgeon Iran into total submission, either economically or militarily.
So the U.S. tried that in Iraq.
It is precisely this recognition that makes the Iran deal so infuriating to Obama’s critics. It codifies the limits of American power. And recognizing the limits of American power also means recognizing the limits of American exceptionalism. It means recognizing that no matter how deeply Americans believe in their country’s unique virtue, the United States is subject to the same restraints that have governed great powers in the past.
So for the Republican right, that’s a deeply unwelcome realization.
Also many other Americans, it’s a relief.
It’s a sign that finally, the Bush era in American foreign policy is over.
And then tell me why Moniz said we NEEDED "anythime, anywhere" access just a few months ago, said it would be in the final draft, and then...pffffft! Gone.
Mari cant do it. Maybe you can?I guess not every Jewish leader wants to play war games like Israel Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu or other clueless people on this thread.
numerous times on TV and print, a rather non-partisan by the name of Bob Woodward, stated he never found any evidence or proof GB lied. He's got a lot more cred than you laffy.
Had you read, like I am sure you did, you would have seen this:
"Along with AIPAC, the studiously apolitical American Jewish Committee and the typically liberal Anti-Defamation League have also come out against the deal. The Iran deal faces opposition from some of the biggest Jewish Federations in America, including Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia and Miami." So that's a right wing, left wing and apolitical group to come out AGAINST the deal....in the game. It's easy to be an armchair quarterback when you're not directly affected. Many high-ranking Israeli military and intelligence figures are for the deal. I give them a lot more credibility.
It's easy for AIPAC, the AJC and the ADL to say whatever they want from the comfort of their homes in the US of A. Why don't they put their "tuchus oyfn tish" and make "aliyah?" Then their opinions, not just their money, would get some respectThe deal is not good for America
The deal gives in to irans demands the deal benefits iran the deal did not get any of the hostages back The deal will give iran money (many billions) to support terrorism the deal will let iran have a nuc The deal lets iran cheat with ease All in all the deal scuks. obama is so desperate for his legacy he will do anything, even damage the United States of AmericaYou're Welcome

When you do it it ok but when I do it it's no good? Lol
And I pointed out awhile ago that the military and Intel figures you refer are in the minority.
I know let's go into another war with someone we hate or dislike.
This is all the GOP has to offer.

...favored the deal. Ordinary people are a lot different than a PAC and interest groups. AIPAC, the AJC and the ADL have an agenda. That's why they're against the deal.
Javed Zariff said so during the opening of the British embassy.
We will have our right wing hyper ventilation and that's all we are going to get. We don't whole lot of their money anyway and even if we do we will have to release it because UN already passed the agreement and so did the EU.And the most recent poll of Jewish Americans I could find (out of NYC ) shows them opposing by a whopping 53-33%.
But I do have to ask. Does it even matter to you personally? You are for the deal regardless of what the public thinks, correct?-- Modified on 8/24/2015 8:34:29 PM
And supports the deal. It's over
...to tell us how you would vote and why? Telling us it is "over" every post isn't a discussion, it's cheerleading.
The other night you almost had a meltdown with the AP story. As I am sure you proly know by now, AP is sticking by its story and the Obama admin is not denying it. So... How could you possibly vote for this deal not knowing all the secret side deals? How do you let Moniz off the hook with his incredible flip flop re: the details with the inspection process and why he folded? Was he pressured? Did he have new info the rest of us aren't privy to? Before we hand the Iranians the bomb, ensure they have ballistic missile technology, allow them to acquire the most advanced radar and air defense systems, and give their economy back to them so they can fund their terrorism and that of their proxies....shouldn't we SLOW down this massive rush for the Nevile Chamberlain Trophy for 2015? What the fk is the rush? Let's hash it all out and THEN see where everyone stands. To cast a vote anytime soon, with new info coming out on an almost daily basis, would be the height of irresponsibility. Two nights ago, you couldn't say how you would vote. Now are you really telling us, the info you have garnered in the last 48 hours, has convinced you that your fears then weren't warranted? OHHHHH...I'm gonna need an explanation for that counselor.-- Modified on 8/25/2015 12:00:48 AM
