Since you seem to believe the only reasons anyone starves are bc of population, and wish to use force to acheive those ends, Ive came up with a solution. If you believe this so strongly, you should put your money where your mouth is. I am starting a movement called the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement. We all have to sacrifice for the greater good, right?

It involves us simply taking our own lives, so the others have more food. The ones who believe the strongest in the greater good philosophy, and so heartily preach it, should have no problem doing this. I will join you Willy.

Say something completely outrageous and wait and see how many swallow the bait whole - actually, I can see how it is probably kind of fun. He is not a moron or a whacko - he starts off with a legitimate point but then carries it to an absurd extreme to provoke a reaction.
Now it is easy for me to add him to my Do Not Click list but it is bad for the Board if this constant provoke and "You are a moron" call and response continues. There are reasons why only about 10 to 15 people post here and this one of them. Plus someone who makes a legitimate post gets pushed down below viewing range in a few hours.

I spend a lot more time ridiculing our little troll than I actually spend engaging him in conversation. I actually have no plans in talking to him in the future, but I doubt I can resist the urge to talk "about" him.
"Good faith debate" is the key phrase here, and it is the reason I rarely speak directly to WW,as I agree that he does not engage in such, and the main reason I call him a troll. You and I disagree on many if not most subjects, gambling and the market aside, but as much as it pains me to say, you add value to the conversation where he adds nothing of value.
After watching Cynic repeatedly engage the troll on the Sports Board, it is clear what a fool's errand it is to argue with a troll, I will take your advice under advisement and make an effort to simply ignore the troll. Whether or not I can actually follow through with action, or inaction in this case remains to be seen.

Because just leaving things alone as things are, then you will be facing an entire planet that's killing each other off in order to control finite resources. It's already happening with oil. The next resource war will be over water, and there's already some movement on that front in India.
It's a question of what is more humane. Billions of people blowing each others heads off, or using humane and effective forms of birth control, particularly in place like the third world where it isn't always available.
Just look at the increase in dangerous viral and bacterial agents we're having to worry about again. Swine flu. Bird flu. Ebola. Anti-biotic resistant tuberculosis. All this is the direct result of over population. How many more people on this planet is needed until something serious takes hold?
This is not a pleasant thing to have to consider. It gives me no joy to consider what the options are here. It is simply a problem that has to be dealt with. And if it isn't, then nature will solve the problem itself, and that WILL NOT BE PRETTY.
As far as I'm concerned, the best way to address this problem is to make absoultely sure that each and every single woman on this planet has equal rights to men. That alone could be the key to stop this problem. In societies where that is true, you see far slower population growth, and in some places population declines. That's the direction we desperately need to go in.
The longer we wait to address this, the worse those options become. If we reach a tipping point, then we could see it mandated that each couple can only produce one child. Or even worse, people only being allowed to have kids if given the ok. Stay on this path, and it forces every government on this planet to mandate a wide scale eugenics program.
So I think stupid and outdated religious ideas on the subject go a little out of the fucking window. Because the longer you and people like you cling to that and block a more humane solution, the worse the situation becomes.
