Like it or not, the last challenge to the law fails by a 6-3 vote, with both Roberts and Kennedy voting with the libs.
But much more importantly, bad for the country.
I am not saying the ruling was wrong. They have their logic. But had it been struck down, I believe the two sides would have been forced to at least try and fix the hideous parts of it. Some here think I am dreaming about that and they could be right. But honestly does anybody really care about the country anymore? It has dissolved into a bunch of small, special interests, on both sides.
So it's good for the GOP that want to get rid of Obamacare and don't have a back up plan?

Jack and I are working hard to repeal the Protection of Second Amendment Rights provision of the Affordable Care Act. We really need to get that one out of there. And the Independent Payment Advisory Board, the limitations on doctor- owned hospitals, and maybe even the risk corridor provisions ought to go.
But I think it is fair to say the last legal challenge to the provisions that most directly affect the insureds – the mandate and the subsidies- are now resolvedAnd what most people don’t realize is that, when the risk corridor provisions expire, premiums are going to spike bc insurers will have to charge the true market price for their services. What I suspect is happening now is that insurers are undercharging to get market share bc Uncle Sam will make up the difference. Insurers who go in the exchange with true market based premiums don’s get many signups.
What we should do is raise the mandate to the cost of the lowest exchange policy so cranks like GaGambler will have to pay his full share, reduce the subsidies, and means test for the subsidies so we don’t have St. Croix’s millionaires claiming them. But the risk corridor provisions are really a taxpayer funded bailout that distorts and should go ASAP. One of Rubio’s few good ideasCongress, as currently constituted, will let the provision sunset, HC premiums will soar, some will stop making their payments, the uninsured rate will go up, the press will be bad once again, the GOP will blame Obamacare and so will the peeps.
The SCOTUS ruling today has virtually guaranteed that, imo. Agreed?Sorry JP, gonna let the peasants have a bit of health care after all.

...after the Burwell decision was announced. This was the decision the corporations wanted and Roberts handed it to them on a silver platter. Many Republicans would say the silver was tarnished by Roberts' strained interpretation of the law but Roberts was just serving his corporate masters.
