This story just keeps getting weirder and more fucked up by the day. And the fireworks shouldn't end with Murdock set to testify before Parliament later this morning.

In case Saint was wondering, News Corp. has lost 17% of it's value since this scandal broke. Jesus, I hope someone shorted them.

Is this what we get for schooling him on investments?  LOL!
Re Murdoch, it is fun watching the dirtbag twist in the wind.  But it makes no sense that News Corp. has lost 17% of its value because of the scandal.  Keep in mind the old saying, "Coincidence does not presume causation."  In other words, the drop isn't necessarily, or entirely, the result of the scandal.  All markets are off a few percentage points because of global debt uncertainty.
Keep in mind that News Corp's newspapers are loss leaders.  Most make no, or very little, money at all.  It's satellite and cable TV that's "where the money is" for Rupert.

I'd be willing to bet that News Corp's biggest problem now is that when they need to go back to relicense their TV programming, there will be serious push back in the US, UK, and in Australia. They're in serious doo-doo.

Agree and deserved... now if we could only get the same scrutiny applied to the so called mainstream press who IMO committ equally outrageous acts, life would be good.  Why do those suckers always get a pass.

After a bit of cynical "harrumphing" they will get all their broadcast licenses renewed and will be able to syndicate all their programming.
