Perhaps we live in a society that is more facts driven and people are starting to want concrete facts before they believe in a "higher power" blindly?

there is however, something inate about humans sensing "something more" to human existence.
...but I wouldn't be surprised if the trends were heading in the right direction. I have no doubt that the New Atheist Movement has had some positive effect.
