During the 3-1/2 years of World War 2 that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945, the U.S. produced; 22 aircraft carriers, 8 battleships, 48 cruisers, 349 destroyers, 420 destroyer escorts, 203 submarines, 34 million tons of merchant ships, 100,000 fighter aircraft, 98,000 bombers, 24,000 transport aircraft, 58,000 training aircraft, 93,000 tanks, 257,000 artillery pieces, 105,000 mortars, 30,000,000 machine guns, and 2,500,000 military trucks.
We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed services, invaded Africa, invaded Sicily and Italy, won the battle for the Atlantic, planned and executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the atomic bomb and ultimately conquered Japan and Germany.
It's worth noting, that during the almost exact amount of time, the Obama administration couldn't build a functioning web site

In 2002:

Dubiya's Iraq team:

1. It will take about six to 12 weeks to take down Sadam
2. Estimate about $80 to $90 billion
3. Estimate about 100 to 150 soldier casualty

Actuals:

1. It took 9 years
2. It was $3 trillion which includes, transporting 250,000 troops, equipment, gas to fuel air and ground equipment, and the equipment left behind.
3. Over 5000 US troops killed, unknown number of various contractors killed.

Gee, how soon people forget!

The man who jumped the White House fence this month and sprinted through the front door made it much farther into the building than previously known, overpowering one Secret Service officer and running through much of the main floor, according to three people familiar with the incident.
Gonzalez is the first person known to have jumped the fence and made it inside the executive mansion.

It's taken only 6 years for Obama to piss it all away, but of course when asked, NONE of it was his fault.

This country has no business invading other countries and force anything down their throats.   He did not piss anything away.     Iraq is another country, not a colony of the US.    Let them settle their own mess.

And then there were the Indians, the Canadians and, well, I could go on.
The US accomplished a huge amount. And as much as the Stalin-led Russians were thuggish and brutal, they suffered perhaps more than anyone.  And contributed as much as anyone.
And, yes, we helped keep both of them in the fight. But also keep in mind your timeline starts on 12/7/41 and the war started 9/39.  Nearly two full years before we got into it.
Not to mention, connecting it with the Obamacare web site is, to say the least, tendentious.

Did you get that from President Obama, the most inept and dishonest President of my lifetime. I'm sure he believes as you do that Iraq is where he wanted it (i.e. nothing pissed away). It just got there a little quicker than he planned.

That was a WORLD war, we had to bond together or our father's would have been marching to the nazi goose step. Not really following what you're getting at but that was a different resolve. The WORLD was at stake.

Here is a joke for you!    "If you think I am stupid you should meet the person who hired me".   Heard that.    You just confirmed that the people who vote in this country are as stupid as you are to elect someone and then call him/her whatever you are calling.

The problem in this country is not those who are getting elected, BUT those who elect them in the first place.

in his attempts to do so, makes himself say some very ridicules things. To get under one's skin a person has to say something that the other views as being pretty close to the truth. However, when he says things so far removed from the truth, he's not getting the reaction he's imagining.  ;)

He and Doc were talking about WWII. He was talking about what got us into WWII; Pearl Harbor.

I believe you took your eye off the ball again.

Doc: "During the 3-1/2 years of World War 2 that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945,..."

Hpygolky: "Doc, we were suckered punched and pissed back then..."

To me, in context, that's said in reference to Pearl Harbor.

Hpygolky: " we had to bond together or our father's would have been marching to the nazi goose step."

To me that is an expression I've heard often when referencing if we had lost WWII.

All my relatives, who live during that time, indeed felt like Pearl Harbor was a sucker punch.

But hey, I could be wrong. Only Hpygolky can speak, definitively, to what he meant.   ;)
