Now that Trump has infected the entire Republican Party with herpes, what is the future? They can live with the damage, but can't fully get rid?

Will there be a miracle cure in about 8 years?

Even more women are coming forward about Trump advances. Don't be surprised if we hear something everyday.

Forever! IMHO, the damage Trump has wrought on the Republican Party will last for several decades. On November 9th after he loses, he will announce to his supporters that the system was rigged against him and they will of course believe the BS. Trump, however, is in a can't lose situation, if he loses in November, he has a ready made audience for a TrumpTV cable network with a potential following of 40+ million supporters.

The Democrats have been exposed as being just as corrupt as the Republicans, only in blue, instead of red.  

It isn't just the GOP that has been damaged by this campaign. Our entire system is suspect and untrustworthy.

There will be a rise in jingoistic nationalism, that will make Trump look like a saint.

Realistic moderates from both existing parties will cross the aisle to form a new third party.

New depths of international derision will be plumbed as Kanye West runs for POTUS as a Democrat in 2020.

A chronic damage that will cause the party to either totally redefine itself or split in two. A split creating a third party is unlikely, and if it happened, one would dwindle away into something a little stronger than the Libertarian Party.

I don't think we'll see many Republicans like Kemp or like Eisenhower or even about Bush the elder for a long time. The "base" is in the mood for Cruz, Rubio, those types.

And I think it will become even more a Southern party and lose states in the Northeast and the West. That's my opinion, but it's just how it feels now. I don't have crystal ball...at least not a recent update.

Trump just forced GOP bigotry to a head, where it is exploding before our very eyes.
