Isn't about backyard BBQs.

If you know a veteran, thank him or her for their service. It will mean something to them.  If you don't know a veteran, why not stop by your local cemetery and place a single flower on the grave of a veteran.

For those who hate this country, feel free to flame away.

Or, if you don't know a veteran, or can't find a cemetery, stop by your local homeless shelter. You'll find some there. If nothing else, post a flag on you home and car. When a vet sees it, it will bring a smile to his/her face.

Send a donation to one of the organizations that sends "care packages" to troops currently serving.

USO is another, and you will make Bob Hope smile.

How about visiting your local Veteran's Nursing Home? Some of them are so lonely in there.  You can volunteer to spend some time with them -just talk, play cards, etc. Or you can make a donation. Great post, BB.

My great grandfather, WWI vet, grandfather WWII, father Vietnam, vet...Myself and brother, Desert Storm.  In less than 100 year, four generations have served in a foreign war.  I hope that the next generation for all our families will not see war.
