As we all enjoy the holiday Monday, let us all remember to stop and give thanks to a veteran for making this and all other days of freedom possible. Remember:

A veteran gives us freedom of the press, not a reporter.
A veteran gives us freedom of religion, not a preacher.
A veteran gives us freedom of speech, not a campus activist.
A veteran gives us the right to vote, not a politician.
God bless them all!!!

That day is typically a very difficult one for my family.

At one point we had two decorated, wounded, and highly honored POW veterans in our family. Just last year we lost the second one. While many generations of my family has had a veteran or two in them, our two most vivid memories are of the 'tattoo's' these brave men wore to their graves reminding them of worse times. Compliments of the Japanese.

Amen John;Amen

Sorry if i ruined the sentimentality of your post.

This year will be a bit different with the upcomming nuptials. :-)

No, you didn't ruin anything. That's what this day is for, a day of remembrance. My condolences to your family on your losses.
