Keyser Soze is either a real or mythical character from the movie "Usual Suspects". Most cultures have a character like Keyser Soze, where just the mentioning of the name sends chills down your spine.

Keyser Soze just wouldn't kill you, but he would kill your spouse, children, parents, friends, and then burn down your house.

but it goes back to Lebanon in the 70s/80s and spate of kidnappings. The PLO had kidnapped a Russian businessman. The KGB doesn't necessarily like to negotiate. So they kidnapped a relative of one of the PLO kidnappers. Lets just say the relative was returned to the PLO in many pieces with Keyser Soze type threats. The Russian businessman was released unharmed that same day.

Lincoln was a great man, but not a saint.

To put together a silly little picture with him crying over this is just being blind to history.

Remember that he never sought a declaration of war.  Thus, as a peace time president, he probably engaged in more "atrocities" and illegal behavior than any other president in history.

Of course, that last statement is incorrect if you adopt the view that the president has to do a lot of necessary stuff that may be questionable.  In that case, you can justify what Lincoln did, which I do.

And get real:  Surely, they captured a lot of Southern agents during the war.  Do you think Lincoln told Grant, "Make sure you read them their rights and get them an attorney."

Do you think Lincoln told Grant, "On your way to the ocean, when you stop by Atlanta, get some peaches for me."

I know the quote well. In fact, I used it on this forum in the last few days, but can't remember which one. Beat you to it.

BUT, BUT, BUT, he said that when the war was on the downside and it was pretty sure we had won. He could well afford charity at that time. Easy to be gracious when you have won.

Before that, he was no more Mr. Nice Guy. Send that sucker marching to the sea. Atlanta in the way? So. Got a match? Might be someone in the building?  Well, you got a problem with that?

And let's get real. My original post was semi-facitious, although it had a point.  I thought that intelligent people could see the humor and satire.  Did you not understand the joke aspect?  From now on, maybe I could say, "Just joking."

No. There are limits. And no one has said that there aren't whent they are being serious.

This is typical Obama-Debate.  Make up something your opponent did not say. Then shoot it down. Classsic straw man. When the first stimulus bill was being debated, Obama said there are those who say we should do nothing.....  

NO, No Liar. No one said that. But it makes it so easy to refute.

(Now, if you didn't understand that I was making a joke, say so, and I will clarify. If you understood that it was semi-humorous, don't get literal.)

No, to be clear. I don't think cops should carry ropes and lynch on the spot.  WOW, you sure got me there.  

But let's get real. In the scenario I mentioned, I do want the cops to be able to question them.  I do want the bad guys scared. I don't want them being told they don't have to talk. I dont want them being told they can get a lawyer.  If time is of the essence, I don't want them waiting an hour to get an attorney, another two hours for the attorney to talk to his client, another hour for the attorney to negotiate with the U.S. Attorney, and then maybe we get answers.
